So here's the easiest way to power a fridge so you don't have to worry about the truck's battery. If you have a built in 120v outlet in your truck, just plug in a power supply to this. Then plug your fridge into the power supply. The truck charges the power supply only when the truck is running. Then the power supply runs the fridge continuously. As long as I run or drive the truck about 30 minutes a day, this seems to keep the power supply charged and fridge running continuously.

So what power supply did you choose?

I use a Pecron 600, which has been pretty good as long as I run the truck every day or two. I'll go with a Pecron 1000 or 1500 when I replace it. The trick is that I'm limited by my 400 watt truck's built in inverter and the Pecron 600 has a 350 watt charger. I'll have to see if the Pecron 1000 can charge from my 400 watt truck inverter.

I think this setup works because my fridge is so efficient.

ICECO JP 42.

Sadly they don't make this fridge anymore. It hardly uses any power. It's so efficient because it is insulated (Rotomolded) just like a Yeti cooler. I haven't seen another Rotomolded fridge out there.

That's exactly what I'm doing.
We are leaving in the am for a two-week tour of Arizona and Utah, camping every night.

Yesterday St.Louis was hit with a tornado and some hail. The Gladiator handled the hail pretty good with a couple small dings but one of my cars has about 20 hail dings.

Do you think they can pop back this ding without repainting?

Check with one of the paintless dent repair shops (Dent Dr, etc.), they do great work.

I am just getting started building mine out. I just got the rooftop tent installed. Have a couple overnight trips planned to test everything out to see how it works and what I need.

I was looking at ARB and Dometic but the Iceco products look good too!
ARB! I owned a 50 qt first gen, it hasn’t missed a beat in seven years of steady use and ARB offers replacement parts for critical components.

I have an ARB Elenents 63 in back under cap has not been out of the Jeep since installed. Even covered with salt mist a few times , was all white, surf fishing that I had to power wash the inside of cap off, fridge just works pretty low draw also, dual battery and Zamp 100watt solar system flat bolted to cap roof works awesome, just glance at solar controller display somedays to see what amps is being supplied by solar. I think it is a compliment to ARB to see Iceco and others making what looks to be a knock
off stainless version with same lid and display screen setup. I think if you stay with the top name brands and really think about what you need size wise you will be fine with any of them. I originally was looking at a 35 quart and member sold me the ARB, glad I got the 63 quart now, when heading to beach between bait and food it is usually full……Jack
Mike, sucks about the hail I wonder how a Mojave steel hood would have held up? We live in the woods with hickory, walnut and oak trees my wife’s Wrangler has pretty many minor dents in her hood the Mojave none but that hail looks real bad!
