Looking at spring options on a budget and I have heard that the ram and jt rear suspension are pretty much identical. So seeing that the ram has a higher rate I figured the spring weights would be heavier. Just wondering if anyone has tried a ram lift coil on their jt rear to hold the added weight of our overlanding setups

Unless you have free ram springs laying around why bother? I've seen quality springs like synergy or rock jock for sale for under $200 for a pair. I can't imagine you're buying new factory springs for much less. It's the same work either way so you're rolling the dice to find out if it gives you the ride height you want and doesn't ride like a dump truck to save $50?

These EVO HD springs I just installed is definitely heavy duty. In fact, I've used spring compressors on OEM, RC, Teraflex, Mammoth and triple rate Rock Krawler springs and this is the first time I seen my spring compressors slightly bend 😳. I'm thinking these EVO HD springs will be the closest to the 1500 RAM springs maybe? But don't take my word for it, i'm sure someone more mechanically incline would be able to assist here.

Yes, and Synergy are dual-rate, they list the rates and approximate lift amount for each spring.
I really liked them under the front of my prior JT

I have the evo4.5 hd and still need more spring rate once all loaded. That’s why I’m looking at ram springs. They have heavier rates

I've gotta ask, how much weight you got back there?

Maybe 1/2’ more lift but mostly higher weight rating. I currently have hd coils but man it’s just not enough.

Checkout Robinsons springs. They will do custom springs. A lot of the super heavy rigs switch to them. I’m around 6800lbs and the Clayton HD springs do great

My son didn’t like the squat in his Gladiator when pulling a 5500 trailer so went with an air bag system that he can adjust on the fly. Expensive, but solved the squat…

I don’t know why anyone would buy a Gladiator if they didn’t tow or haul with it. I’d have a JLU if I didn’t tow and haul regularly. I tow and haul more than most of the HD trucks I see around here.
