An 8 in a Jeep... some days i miss my straight 6 that just 'worked'
Not exactly a HP monster - but many of them went well over 200,000 miles without ever being opened up.

If you want your JEEP enthusiasts to stay Jeep enthusiasts & continue buying Jeep vehicles (REPEAT business) then you go to all the Jeep Enthusiast forums / Groups, etc and ask them what they want. I’m sure they have well-paid marketing folks all over the internet getting feedback and stirring up the masses. 😁

But of course….they could just cater to all the NON - JEEP enthusiasts and build us something we could totally throw-up on. 🤣
Doesn't work that way because the MAJORITY of Gladiator owners and Wrangler owners don't do forums - at all, anywhere.
It's a small fraction of a fraction and if you studied psychology, internet users also tend to be different sorts. It's one reason that posting a poll on a web page isn't even close to reality - and I'm referring to polls on X, Fakebook, Instacrap, or just plain web pages.
It's certain personality types that will be there at all, and then of those, only a small number even bother with polls.
Guess what - those who are satisfied with the 3.6 won't bother responding to - or even SEE this poll. it's again like going to a hospital and asking people to fill out a form "how ya'll feeling today?"
Anyone with a psychology degree or who have done much market research would blow this lame poll to shreds.

Frank Booth back in the 70's was taking a band saw and cutting the heads up. He would cut the heads length wise. One head would be cut close to the bottom of the ports. Another head would be cut close to the top of the ports. Then he would weld the heads together. It would be an extra tall head. Called them Franken heads. He did this on his Pro Stock Hornet.
You should see some of the home-brew intake manifolds at some of the shows and race events. One guy made a high-rise for his 327 Marlin. He's got that heavy engine pulling pretty good.

No, you have a majority of FORUM MEMBERS who want to speak up about changes. Nothing even close to reality. Guess you failed your stats classes.
It's a safe bet that forum members represent a good cross section of total buyers.

You also failed your psychology classes if you even come close to believing that.

that was the beauty of the jeep platform for me, even the gladiator in it's own way... a light nimble vehicle that can fill a ton of roles. if i wanted/needed a true 'tow monster' i'd want a much bigger platform.

my 99 sahara took me so many places and never let me down

Evidently someone there is listening
If you know how racing works - for certain races, a company has to sell a number of units to the general public. So if they want to race with a certain engine, it has to be available for sale to the public in so many numbers.
It's not that way for ALL races, but for many, if it's not sold as an option to the public, it can't be raced in certain races.
So, there's that..............
OTOH........
NASCAR is quite different in that they limit the types of engines and CID. Chrysler was banned for years and is getting back into it now after being banned and their financial troubles.
I'd not read anything into that video - it's racing oriented. It doesn't mean anything for the Jeep.
it's NASCAR truck series.

I've seen them. Made out of aluminum flat plate and tubing welded up.

If you think that marketing stunt means Stellantis is listening to a tiny group of people that already bought their product, then I have some investments you would be interested in.
Why do you think Ram brought the Hemi back?

Don't get me wrong - i like the SBC and have for years (liked the engine in my Silverado, all aluminum LS) - but trading one set of valve train failures for another?
Didn’t know the LS generations are still called SBC. My daily work world ends by 1967.

To my understanding, the general un-reliability of the newer LS engines is pretty much narrowed down to the AFM, just like the Hemi MDS issues. Both engine families offer variants without it. So these issues can be resolved with basic parts swap and programming.

I think if the same would be the case for the 3.6, we’d hear less griping about its marginal output, unfriendly torque power band. And more would defend it by acknowledging that it’ll ’last forever’.
Coming from a 2Door JL, I certainly notice that the engine labors harder to keep the JT at speed, than in my previous Jeep (The extra weight has a notable impact.)

I think the engine design / reliability curve has peaked around 15 years ago. The OEM’s need to find their way back to that standard.

It's a full-size truck with much greater towing and payload capability.......... among other things. A full size truck needs an engine that can handle the load and not break a sweat.
