I think I'll pass on that one. There are thousands of 3.6's out there with thousands of miles and no Baxter's installed. I'm sure they are probably worth it, but there is no clear proof.
ShadowPapa, you take that Javelin out for a spin lately?

You'd have to go way deeper than that to really do a DOE and find a true root cause.

And no one, including Stellantis, is going to.

Baxter is going to keep selling elixir to anxiety ridden weiners, Stellantis is going to keep shoving the cost onto their suppliers, the failure rate is going to stay low single digits anyway, and the internet will keep living in it's feelings.

Didn't we determine that high lift is in operation at start-up until there is oil pressure to deactivate it? If the engine has been sitting a while, there is only residual oil on the high lift rockers and lobes and there is no oil pressure yet to fully lubricate those parts as they slide across each other. I am not stating that this is the cause of the failures, just saying the high lift is in operation during start-up while there is no oil pressure and less/minimal lubrication.

Oops, yes, you are correct indeed.
Not sure what the pressure threshold is to overcome the spring pressure on the plunger.
Still probably fast as the pump starts out in high volume mode.

This is true cause mine jumps to 40's and 50#'s of pressure for a short period i will see if I can remember and take a pic or something similar

I dont run the baxter piece on our 22, But it has had a J and L separator on it since new. It fills will oil about every 1000miles, we have 42k on it now as it is strictly a toy, have had no valve train/engine issues, just clutch problems😆
