I have recently found the easiest way to reach the SGW module, for me, is to remove the trim piece below the steering column and it's right there. Six clips and the trim is out.
Still a bit of a circus act to get your fingers in there but it is the easiest and clearest shot to the module I could get.

I do this as well. I've had to make adjustments a couple of times with my JScan app and got it where it isn't too bad accessing those connection points.
I still may get the extension cables eventually.

I know its an older post but Google led me to this thread ;) I had the bluetooth module sitting on my desk for over a year, we used it on my son's 2015 JKU which worked perfectly. This morning I plugged it into the JT and it seemed to have worked as well, so I just purchased a license for the VIN and the security cable adapter. My question is: @ShadowsPapa did this work for you and has anyone run into issues using this?

I suspect most of the bluetooth adapters will do what most people want them to do with JSCAN. There may be exceptions - but you won't blow anything by trying.
The worst that would happen is JSCAN doesn't like to work with that adapter, or it won't handle something, but if JSCAN sees and connects to it, chances are it will work for most things.

Thank you for that info!

I know you asked @ShadowsPapa the question, but I can share my experience suing Jscan on multiple vehicles, if I'm understanding your question correctly.

I purchased the VINs and used my adapter and jscan on five of our vehicles. My JT, wife's JKU, and parent's Ram, Charger, and Pacifica. The JT and Ram required the SGW cables and now the new Pacifica requires the SGW cables.

Once I bought the VINs to each vehicle, I had no issues.

Always good to get another set of eyes on something, especially with the variety of vehicles that include a JK.

I believe you meant to spell "using" you literally almost gave me a heart attack thinking your experience was so bad you sued the crap out of Jscan - LOL :CWL:

Thanks again for the feedback, really appreciate it!

Can I disconnect it after I make the adjustments or do I need to leave it plugged in?

🤣🤣My bad! Crazy how two letters can completely change the direction of a conversation!🤣🤣

But, you do not have to leave it plugged in. That's one of the benefits of jscan which allows you to use the same adapter and cables on multiple vehicles.

After Tyson gets out of the courtroom today............. I guess he's busy with attorneys.........

The nice thing about JSCAN and AlfaOBD - you can use certain "live" things like increasing the idle speed for winch use, cleaning phasers, bleeding brakes and such, or, you can make changes to the TPMS numbers, tire size, gear ratios, whatever, and they "stick" after you say yes and exit the software.
