Hey Jeep friends! I was wondering if it was possible (and best way) to install a 115v DC outlet in the bed of the Gladiator if it wasn’t optioned that way from the factory?

Are there aftermarket solutions? Or do I just go to my local Radio Shack for an inverter, wire, and receptacle?

I wish Radio Shack was still around.

First thing to do, is to decide what you need 115vac for. Do you have the devices already? Can you use 12vdc instead?

If you have the 115vac for the rear seats then you have the inverter and you could retro fit your truck with the oem rear 115outlet. I was going to do this mod myself but at that time, the parts were not available. Then I thought about it some more and decided 12vdc was all I really need.

You have many options as far as 12vdc to 115vac installations that do not integrate with the jeep. Jackery is one that comes to mind. You have a bunch of Amazon wonders at a good price. It just depends on your power requirements and wallet.

I just watched a youtube video on this. I don't know if we can post links but look for DIY Jeep Gladiator OEM 115V Bed Power Outlet Install.

I used the search with 115v bed outlet - you might try 110v bed outlet since that's how it's advertised by Jeep as I recall......

My two cents......route a suitable gauge (and fused) wire from the battery to the rear along the passenger side frame rail. Pop out the existing plastic cover where the bed outlet would have been. Install a 12V outlet of your choice. Then spend the rest of your budget on your choice of power station to fit your needs.

Best of both worlds. Use the 12V outlet to keep the power station charged, then use the power station for everything else. Solves the 120V concern (inverter is built in), will have plenty of USB outlets for devices, and can be moved off the tailgate to power the blender and make margaritas when needed.

USB, 12v outlet, volt meter, switch (so when sleeping back there, I could turn off all accessories with a single switch, but it's really not needed as I ran it through an aux switch anyway)

Rats, I guess I have to make a GREEN plate and run a wire in this one!

I actually ran the wire INSIDE the frame on the other one - don't think I'm going through that again.

Nice. I ended up 3d printing the plate, installing just the 12v cigarette outlet, and throwing the fanciest switch I could find on there. Pretty sure I just copied another post I found on here, honestly, can't recall. The ECOFlow just stays back there now to power everything else.
