Between the 2 JLURs and my JT mojave we've owned over the last 7 years I've yet to buy a single aftermarket wheel. From stock 33s to 37s and then 38s on the 2019 JLUR all on the stock wheels. The 2022 JLUR came with 35s and then went straight to 39s. The 2023 JT was on 37s by 1,100 miles. To fit tires that big I have run 1.5" wheel spacers on all 3. I like the look of the stock wheels and I drag them on rocks. Never felt the need to buy wheels. I know some people are terrified of wheel spacers, but properly installed hub centric spacers don't come loose or cause any issues that running an aftermarket wheel with the same back spacing doesn't. Thousands of off road miles and over 140k miles combined with no issues.

i've never given up stock wheels until there is actually a problem with them (i.e. out of round or badly chipped). i've only had to do that on an XJ and a Chevy pickup both over 150k miles.

2 years and 25K on my 2022
6 months and 7K on my 2024

i put the tires i want on them before i even leave the lot though, better resale value.

I sold my Mojave wheels with 33" Falken tires when they were less than a week old for $1200. It helped considerably with the new wheels and 37s.

I sold the tires alone and kept the wheels and tpms sensors. $600 for the tires and scored the 37" kanati mud hogs from one of Walmart crazy sales for $412 shipped to the house. Even after paying for mounting and balancing I made just over $100 going to 37s.

Hello all. I haven’t been on here long. I recently purchased a ‘25 Rubicon. Naturally, I want to upgrade a few things. Wheels are a definite at some point. That being said, I don’t think they look too bad. It seems everyone on this forum has upgraded wheels. My question is, how long did you guys have your trucks before spending money on wheels? And a side question, does anyone still use their stock Rubicon wheels?
Going
2 days, driving 1000 miles home from the dealership, and then put on Launch Edition take-off rims that I still have 6 years later.
Going on 2 yrs now.

Keeping the oem Rubicon wheels
Swapped to Nitto Trail Grappler 35x12.5x17 at 3k
Just lifted, regeared and went to Nitto Ridge Grappler 38x11.50r17 after wearing out the 35s at 36k miles
The Kenda Klever R/T have almost identical tread as those Nittos and 120 dollars cheaper

Kenda doesn't make a 38x11.50r17 and Nitto does.
Nitto is Made in the USA, Kenda is made in China
These measure at
37.75" on the wheel
37" on the ground
My son works at a tire shop and I get Nittos at dealer cost.

I did the 11.50w to help with rolling resistance and weight reduction from the 12.50w

A little better fit on the oem 7.5" wheel

Also helps with fender clearance

Not planning seeing snow here in Florida

I sold the factory black 5 spoke alumin and bought factory spare steelies, paint matched and threw 35x12.502r17 under 900 miles in 21. Now I have 35x11.5r17
