No the shop said they likely couldn't find the root cause, it would just burn money on labor and it was already expensive enough. It was sent back to Jasper's for the core refund.
There's a difference between where I worked in the past, and shops of today.
We were curious, and sometimes even if it meant some digging over lunch or after hours, sometimes we just had to know.
Today, if it doesn't pay, it won't get done.

Yeah today it's all money and they probably have a line of cars waiting for service. I don't blame them, everybody has a family and business to take care of.

My F-350 near GVWR is no where as sluggish.. go figure
Could it be that the F350 has a Giant turbo diesel or a Monster sized Gasser 🤔 🤣😂😂

Half of them are like toddlers with crayons. No chance they stay within the lines.

3.6 is pretty decent and as stated by others, gearing and tire size comes into play. Towing trailers or not in higher mountains loaded with people and camping gear, you just learn to go a little slower...enjoy the view.

Do NOT want any turbo that will die prematurely and strains the engine in the process. 3.6 has like 11.3:1 compression which is pretty high and helps it make power efficiently.

Nope 70 is max in WV and thats only on 2 highways . 77& 79 . Rest of the state is 65 and 55 and under.. hardly a stretch ling enough and straight enough to get up to 90mph and slow back down before some humongous curve 😂
Yep, West Virginia, God's country but there are almost zero as the crow flies roads or highways due to the Appalachians. :)

That F350 drivetrain and frame would be nice with a Gladiator body sitting on it. 😆
I'll check some of the off-road suppliers to see if anyone has the plug-and-play adapter kit available yet.

I'm counting on the aftermarket to step up, in the next 4-6 years, with more affordable DIY swap parts.

One day my lovely bride will move on from her Gladiator, and I will take it and sell off my over valued first gen 4runner.

At that point, nothing is sacred to me, bobbed bed, tons, 40's, a V8.

Just up to the aftermarket if it's a metal dash with a few cheap gauges in it, a 300.00 5.3 Chevy, and a 90.00 4L80, or a reasonably OE looking 5.7 Hemi install.

I guess you can do that in West Virginia.

I saw the movie Deliverance many years ago. Now it clicks with me.
