We have our fair share lol. I am not here to argue and get into pissing matches. I apologize if I offended you.
I probably jumped (ok, likely, ok, did)
All is good - I tried to back up and lighten it up. Hmm, I've met some of your pot holes a few years ago crossing into Canada from Alaska. I guess you'd probably win the pot hole contest.
All is good - I don't want it to get nasty. Sorry I got tangled in a few key words.

I couldn't get back out to the shop working on things left how it was. Bugged me a lot.

The hybrid is nice and if my JT was hybrid i might me able to afford driving it regularly but IMO 40 mile (give or take ) for EV only is pretty lame. but if i could increase my Per/tank mileage to 400+ miles per tank that would be amazing. Right Now i barely get 300 miles per tank of gas.

I appreciate that. We all love Jeeps and especially Gladiators. Cheers

First off, we have four (4) Pentastar 3.6 engines in the Family. Two are of the original 3.6's, and two are the PUG'S. They are great engines, of which we have not had any major problems with them. I have not owned a 4XE, nor will I ever own one. Two of my neighbors have them in their Wranglers. They both have spent more time in the Dealers service Department, verses at home in their own garage. Ongoing electrical problems, plus a lack of back up parts support. They have also been told by their Dealer, that the factory has told owners not to put them inside their garage. Because they are subject to fires. Plus, the Dealer that I use is one of the largest in the Phoenix area. They have told me that their tech's would prefer not to work on them. Many of the Dealer lots have many on hand and have a hard time finding interested buyers. So, if you purchase one, GOOD LUCK.
lack of parts isn't just a 4XE issue. I waited over a year for my JT Rubicon shocks to get replaced HAHAHA

Ironically, the 5.7 is only available in the Ram now as a hybrid 😂

Is that what is meant by the term "e-torque"? I have no clue what e-torque is.

Yes, it's considered a "mild hybrid" in that it doesn't have the same drive system as a real hybrid.
You have a motor-generator (48 volts, I think??) belt driven on the engine instead of an alternator. It boosts the power, and captures coasting and braking energy to rechard the 48 volt battery system. It's not high voltage like a true, full hybrid or PHEV

So yeah, you nailed it.

Thanks. I started to watch a tfl episode on YouTube yesterday and the guy was testing a new ram that had the 5.7 etorque. I didn't get to finish it though. What would be the purpose of having a mild hybrid v8? Iam assuming maybe better gas milage and more torque?

Frankly, tax credits, units sold, and generally government policy drives a lot of these things.

My take - more mpg, longer brake life (brakes on a 4xe might go way over 100,000 miles depending on use), a lot smoother take-offs, smoother shifting, more low-end torque.
It's interesting how smooth our 4xe is on starting from a stop, shifting, if you don't look at the cluster you may not feel it shift
Not nearly as complex as a full hybrid (in between pure ICE and hybrid on complexity)
Better towing torque - especially low-end.
I've seen some say 2 to 3 more mpg city and combined driving.
Perfect? No, I'm sure there's drawbacks like some added maintenance over the pure ICE.

I vaguely remember your posts on that. Was it because you had the legacy OEM Rubicon Fox shocks and they stopped making them and converted over to the red body Tenneco made ones?

Sort of. It only boosts power for something like half a rotation. It's pretty useless in my experience. On identical JLs with and without the etorque it's no quicker 0-60 and it gets no better fuel economy. Her JLUR has the 3.6L and etorque. My JT mojave doesn't. Similar builds, similar weights. No problem for either of us to keep up with the other even if we leave the same light hard together. Driven both back to back 100s of times. Thousands of miles in each. No noticeable or measurable difference at all. People claim it smooths out shifts, can't even feel that in the slightest.
