Ive reached out to the installer but have not heard back, will be dropping by the shop next week to see what they think.

tried hunting down a small clunk last year whenever i backed out of my driveway, it has since gotten worse and seems ive found it. Only happens in “firm”

and yes, the shock bolts are tight.
Thoughts?

My buddy has these as well on his 21 JTR but his clunking noise came from the Falcon steering stabilizer. Steering back and forth quickly and set to stiff mode, it clunked like this, when set to soft it was quiet.

I just ordered one of these stabilizers yesterday. I hope this is not the case with mine. It defeats the purpose.

I can say with his situation, it was not like this from the start, in fact I think he went almost two years before the clunk was heard. It wasn’t until I was able to help him out a couple weeks ago he let me drive his beautiful black, 6” lift, 38’s that I immediately heard the click/clunking when turning and I offered to help him retorque/check torque on everything under there. He had beefed up his whole front suspension parts which included the falcon adjustable steering stabilizer, and once retorque was completed on everything, that clunk was still there.

Stethoscope found it right away, in fact, when the stabilizer was set to firm, what I heard in the stabilizer tube was ‘metal on metal’ scraping followed by a very sharp metal snap/knock sound. He then dialled back to soft and all was quiet.

Falcons have a three year warranty. Question become does the shop warranty the part or kick you to Falcon to sort out?

Shocks are getting replaced under warranty, apparently its a known problem. I contacted falcon directly, they werent much help and said they have never seen the problem before.

the install shop said different and that its a known problem and they will be getting replaced.

That is Customer Service 101 training right there. You are always the first when sitting in a waiting room full of other people there for the same problem.

What was the fix to this? I installed one on my Brothers Gladiator and it does the same thing - clunk when in firm setting and steering back and forth.

I wish I took pics. There are a couple explanations for the clunk. It took the driver to work the steering wheel while I probed with the stethoscope
1. Main clunk noise was loudest at the shock at hard setting and softened when setting was moved to softer setting where I heard more of the oil passing through the valves and less clunk. Driver steered back and forth, creating the clunk.
2. Another method that made the clunk noise was for him to approach his driveway from the road while full steer to the left, tires would hit the soft curb of the sidewalk at his driveway and clunk was heard. This noise was a nut that would hit the stabilizer rod (full extension) at full steer lock.

He then took it up the the 4x4 shop that did his front suspension upgrade and it was just a fight all round.

The ultimate fix was to trade it in on a Ford F150 😑

I was looking to buy these shocks on the next Black Friday sale. I may hold off on that thought. Wonder how many have this issue.

Installer was saying they have replaced a lot, he did not say what " a lot" is however...

too bad, i like the way they ride and the adjustability is awesome. if they pile up again i wont be paying out of pocket for another set mind you. ill go a different route.

I know a couple of folks who have had issues with the shocks, exactly what you're describing here. AThe warranty process through Falcon was less than stellar. I've decided to avoid them.
