I'm looking at a Used 60k miles 2020 Gladiator (Rubicon).

According to the CarFax the one & only previous owners was
Ministry of Transportation
St. Thomas, St. Thomas, ON

What should I look out for, besides "too much rust" on the underside?

While we're on the topic, what do you suppose the Ministry of Transportation would do with a JT for 60,000 miles?

Thanks in advance.

Unless you are going to keep it in Canada, I would avoid it.

It was a government vehicle, probably driven by a multitude of employees. Another reason to avoid it.

I had a third gen Grand Cherokee with the same thing on the CarFax. Way more miles though. It was pushing 140k by the time I bought it. It was the old Mercedes sourced common rail diesel version. Visually, the undercarriage was a nightmare, but mechanically, it ended up being one of the most reliable vehicles I've ever owned. Definitely the nicest highway going SUV I've ever had.

There's ZERO warranty from Jeep on a vehicle when it crosses the border

I guess I should have mentioned that I do not expect any warranty to remain on a 60k vehicle.

Some sources say I would not receive any Recall notifications either. That is kind of troubling tho.

I was thinking more along the lines of what was mentioned by Thunderspud

Not that it matters, but there are lighting differences between US and Canadian vehicles. I believe Canadian vehicles also have taillights on when the DRL's are on and some IP cluster lighting which is different then the US marketed vehicles.

Is the 60K in miles or Kilometers :)

Out of curiosity, why are you looking at a Canadian model? I would assume middle America would have a multitude of 2020 JTs to choose from and all sorts of delivery options if you wanted to go that route.

I would imagine like anybody else that knowingly bought one, it would be price being the driving factor.
Or, like me, OP is just picky. I searched for almost two years, went backwards in year model, and travelled out of state to get the current truck. Hundreds of closer options with cheaper price tags, but none with the specific set of options/color/manual trans that I decided I wanted.

Like anything else, not necessarily a bad thing buying a Canadian market model so long as one understands what they are getting.

So far so good, well ... except for the main Instrument Cluster went black one day a couple weeks ago.

I looked down when driving to work. There was no digital info in the middle cluster, above the steering column. The truck otherwise seemed fine so I kept driving.

Long story short, I after a lot of research & price checking, I took it to my local Jeep dealership (not where I bought it) for them to diagnose the problem too. We've bought a lot of new vehicles from this dealership, since 1998.

They said a $904 repair, that my 3rd party warranty company will pay all but $270 for. So, $270 out of pocket ($100 deductible + $170). Would have been only $100, but the shop/labor hours did not match up between dealership & warranty company (imagine that). However, I am still okay with this.

I can't help but wonder if the used car dealership where I bought it uses "rebuilt" instrument clusters to replace the kilometer per hour speedometers with miles per hour speedometers. I'm sure, at the very least, they remove them to get them recalibrated or something.
