I'd say a little bit of both.My only question is that paint peeling or stone chips?
I just couldn’t tell in the pics and it’s always been a common place on jeeps to get beat up with stone chips.I'd say a little bit of both.
If a dealer tries to deny warranty coverage cause of those stone chips, I'd argue the bubbling on the face of the hinges is far enough away that it wasn't caused by the stone chips.
I'd suggest perhaps paint coming off due to lack of adhesion due to corrosion. Look at the color of those parts under the paint (well, YOU probably already have)I'd say a little bit of both.

Hello, thank you for tagging us. In some cases, the dealership is able to request out-of-warranty cost assistance on behalf of the customer. We recommend contacting your service advisor to see if you qualify.Anyone have any luck with an out-of-warranty claim on repair? I'm starting to see the same issue, but 3 months late on the 5 year (of course). @JeepCares , any advice? There's a service bulletin on this. Any chance of getting covered past the 5 year warranty?
Just got mine back today from the warranty corrosion repair. Took over a month just for Stallantis to approve it and set me up for a drop off date. After that, the dealer had it for 18 days. Apparently body panel availability is an issue at the moment, or so I was told. Mine got all 4 doors, hood, and tailgate along with a repair of the windshield frame near the top corner.Yep! My wife’s 2021 goes to the body shop next month. It took Stellantis a month approve the repair. Two new front doors, new hood and tailgate!
Body shop estimate was $12K CDN plus their cost for new parts…
We also have the back window leak.
Whoever posted about the 7mm hose fix.
You are indeed a scholar and a gentleman!![]()
I didn’t know that. My hood is getting it, and I assumed I was screwed due to being over 3/36. But I’m under 5 years, having bought it in July 2021. But I’m still hesitant. I’m afraid it’ll be a larger disaster.Last June, I noticed my door hinges were bubbling and I brought it into a CDJR dealership. Their warranty guy did an inspection and also found bubbling on the hood. Under warranty, they ordered all 4 new doors and a new hood, and painted them at the body shop (along with new "Rubicon" decals and hood vents). Took about 3 weeks for parts to come in and had the work done in a week, they also gave a rental car for free. The paint corrosion warranty is only good for 5 years from when the truck was sold brand new. I would first check with your local CDJR dealership warranty department, they can tell you the exact dates based on your vin. If yours is a 2020 model year, it's likely past the warranty end date.
My entire process was pretty painless. Make sure the dealership has some experience with this warranty issue and doesn't sub out bodywork to 3rd party.I didn’t know that.
