I really like the look of these, but god that price is crazy. I can’t wait to get one of these for $40K or less in a year or two when they aren’t selling at all.

If you use anything with a computer chip, you're supporting the same conditions.
Or if you're wife wears a wedding ring or the smart phone you posted this from or any number of other products we all use on a daily basis. Like the oil fields in the middle east are luxury conditions in the 120⁰ summers? But it's a product I don't like so I'll cherry pick some facet of the production to complain about.

Probably not for those in Gladiators or Wranglers, from TFA "Recon is right there, geometry wise, with the likes of the Mercedes G-Class, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Rivian R1S". Interesting, but is even more likely to never touch dirt.

Oh look mommy! Another electric SUV. So for the price of that thingy, you can get two 2 door Wranglers, a well-equipped Wrangler, or Gladiator. I guess the tree hugging feel good snobs will have another vehicle choice.

I have a Tesla so I actually do like EV’s…. In there place. However, promoting an EV as an offroad vehicle is ridiculous, I mean who would take it anywhere other than 50 miles from a charger with that measly range. Real world would probably be closer to 150 mile range when you factor in the 80/20 rule.

Jeep is about 3 years too late to this party. The only people I see buying these are soccer mom’s taking their kids around town, which is actually where most people rack up their mileage but you don’t need removable doors etc. to do that. In that regard I guess its the same thing as soccer moms driving G Wagons…

They look a lot like diamond mines... but there's no outrage there? No risk of a lithium spill killing 10s of thousands of birds and sea creatures either, but we can pretend oil is the environmentally friendly option if we want.

What happened to Jeep saying that EV battery technology had to come way up before getting back into the EV thing 🤔.
Seems like a lot of double talk. EV mandates are done ,toast ..
IMHO a silly offering to Jeep enthusiast. Even if it has off-road type capabilities it won't be able to hang
You're right, but it will make my suburbie wife happy with size and looks and modern stuff, and I can at least not have to drive a Ford.... It's a great wife car. Price kills it though..
Omg just put an old school non-turbo four banger in something like this and keep it simple with a low price.... you'll dominate the market.
You're right, but they killed the Renegade off for some reason. Not sure why except for the clown car size of it.

Hate to say it, but you're right. We can't fight every single thing out there.

On the other hand, diamonds and oil fields don't claim to be saving the planet... Also, oil fields aren't a picnic anywhere on the planet. But, oil field workers get PAID no matter where they work, Iraq or the Bakkan Oil fields where it hits 50 below

They don't expect this to sell, they expect it to be a write off.

But since the work was already done, why the hell not launch it.

IDK how every single American automaker decided they should all be Tesla and chase the premium market only with their EV's, but the choice is haunting all of them now.

The Chinese could come in and decimate tomorrow, even with a 100% tariff. They didn't learn a thing from the EV1 debacle.

Absolutely to that extent, and worse. Look those rare earth mines in China up.

If you actually cared about lithium mining conditions, you would toss out all your rechargeable devices instead of virtue signaling about it.
