I was a fan for several years from the very early 2000's on into the early 2010's and fell off.
My ole lady broke the shit out of her ankle in a car accident right before the second race of the 2023 season and since she was laid up I was like 'I havent tuned in for quite some time'.
Anyway, ended up watching every Cup Race since then, probably half of the Xfinity, and a third of the trucks, and have went two races in Atlanta (the third will be next month).
All that is to say, after following it very closely the last two years - what you said makes sense
