I dont think WIX is all that good.

Jeep Gladiator New Oil Filter option for Diesel’s 1706554406983

Notice the Wix line isnt even on the graph? Yeah, thats because its that bad at actually filtering.

Its too bad that Fram doesnt make an Ultra filter because the Ultra's are by far the best filters available.

Yeah, for whatever reason WIX XP Synthetic Media line of filters are generally rock catchers. I want to say they rate them 99% efficient at 35 microns instead of 20-25 microns other maker rate their premium filters. They value flow over efficiency, sorta like the K&N HP oil filter line of "High Performance" oil filters. Irony is their standard cellulose media line has better efficiency ratings.

I would caution to not swipe a broad brush as that data and chart was for a sample of one and not the filter in question here.

i would agree somewhat, but im also guessing the filter media is the same across all filters of the same line.

The XP’s do flow well but the Fram ultras are really close while offering the best filtering.

I've been running Doc's since my 4th oil change, just turned 125k and it hasn't blown up. I'm too lazy and cheap to do oil analysis since I will incur the cost whenever it blows up anyway. No sense to me to have a quarterly reminder it's coming someday and stressing out about it. money is put aside for a rebuild when it happens. Just hope to get 250-300K at least before then. So for what it's worth I guess, they seem to work fine. $36. Best thing to do to help it out wold be a bypass micron filter system from somewhere like insane diesel. I have their cooler, prolly should have put the rest of it in, but if damage has been done from contaminants to the bottom end already, not much point now.. :/

I'm going to use doc's fuel filters but I read a few complaints about oil pressure issues with their oil filter.

I've seen some similar complaints about other cheap oil filters so decided to just go with OEM.

Of course, I buy before I research so now I need to stop by Auto zone later and return a filter. lol

Thanks, they're 49 right now so I ordered a couple and will return the STP XL that I picked up on my way home.
Why in the Sam Hill would they make a filter that has to have a new cap that is made into the filter 🤔

It's Jeep engineering. A reusable aluminum cap like any other manufacturers would makes too much sense. Gotta be different and expensive to look special.
