Awesome job Tim, i am inspired!
I see you still have power steering fluid reservoir at the same 3.6 location. So, you have not changed anything for power steering have you?
Jeepit: Alternator placement is key. Only the 392 Wrangler engine has a timing cover that has the high bolt location. All other Hemi’s 5.7L/6.4L (car and truck) have alternator placement lower. Which will require the electric PS pump be replaced by a belt driven pump. On mine aside from rotating the reservoir like 90 degrees. I didn’t change any thing else. All the lines and steering gear are the original ones in my Gladiator. Tim

I just need kit that will allow me to put the 3.6 back in easily when it's time for a smog test. LOL

JTGuy: Yeah I am in Colorado where state rules are bit more relaxed. But if you meet smog for the year of the engine and as long as it is newer or the same year as your vehicle can't that pass? I am no expert with CARB (both CO and CA's). But I have a 2023 JT that has the smog efficiency of a 2023 JL 392. I have all the smog equipment, cats, evap everything is there. Tim

JTGuy: Todd at Jeep Speed Shop, he's out of Marin County (Northern Ca). He talks about CARB. Check his videos out on youtube. Tim

I spoke with CARB. No crate engines and must come from a California Vin vehicle of close to the same GVW complete with trans and transferase . All sensors and wires have to be there.

They are recommending 90K or less with a 392.

If I was doing a 5.7L swap, I'd keep my old transmission without a second thought, regardless of mileage...if it bolts up with no issues.

Edit: Complete late model 5.7's with 'low' miles are going for $3,000 ish on eBay. Sign me up for DIY 😄
A new Crate Hemi 5.7 is
$5,410.00
Mopar Original Crate Hemi

There are some add-ons you will need anyway, is less than 1k in add-ons from Mopar

And Jeep Speed Shop made a video on their channel already talking about the JT kit

What do you mean by no crate engine?

We've done a bunch of the AMW Hemi swaps over the past 5 years. All but one of them have been autos. The manual conversion we did has been back a few times with broken transfer cases and blown manual transmissions. We are swapping it out to an auto this spring to get away from the problems.
Have you taught about the Atlas transfer case? Many 392 owners are replacing by it to get 2H and get rid of the AWD.

I haven't had a chance to watch the video but do they mention the rough cost of their JT kit?

It's around $40K for an AMW 392 locally installed, and about $33K for a 5.7L.

Figure the 392 crate is $8500 from Mopar, a reman 8HP70 is another $4K but could be had for less if you pick and pull, and the JSS JK kits were $5K.

Coming in at under $20K for a full 392 swap is a steal compared if you don't care about a warranty. Then again if you're DIY'ing the swap you likely can fix anything that goes south anyway.

Regarding the 2H transfer case. Earlier in the thread I detail how I converted my MP1622 to work with the Wrangler 392 8HP75 transfer case bolt pattern and 43 spline output shaft. Both of which are unique to the Wrangler 392 8HP75. With 2H, on the freeway I can get 18.5 MPG! Talking with some of the Wrangler 392 owners most only get 13 - 14 MPG with the MP3022 fulltime 4W transfer case. Just from a gas mileage perspective the 2H transfer case is worth it.
