To me it makes sense to slide it into the LB chassis to get costs down.It looks like the new 2.0L EVO is definitely ramping up. I wonder if that will be migrated into the JL/JT platform.
That's what I did.If I want a Jeep with a V8 the Wrangler will have to do.
Which do you like better the gladiator or wrangler. That's what I did.![]()
That's a tough question honestly, I loved my Glady and the setup, so much room for camping/overlanding even rock crawling the truck was so capable. But every time I start up my 392 and/or hit the gas it brings a smile to my face. The 392 is way more fun to drive and once I get it set up the way I want it'll be sweet!!Which do you like better the gladiator or wrangler.
If I could do without a truck bed (or could deal with the lower towing capacity) I'd be thinking long and hard about the Willys 392.That's a tough question honestly, I loved my Glady and the setup, so much room for camping/overlanding even rock crawling the truck was so capable. Truck bed is a must for me. The whole reason I am even in a Jeep to begin with is I wanted a naturally aspirated V-6(at least) in a small truck and Nissan was the only other alternative. When I test drove a Frontier some years ago the seats were so narrow that the bolsters pinched my rib cage (I’m a biggish human). If I could do without a truck bed (or could deal with the lower towing capacity) I'd be thinking long and hard about the Willys 392.
But, I need the bed, and I really want the 'comfort' with 5,000 pounds behind it on occasion - so Gladiator it is![]()
Awesome, understood completely. I have a duramax for all my towing needs. If I could do without a truck bed (or could deal with the lower towing capacity) I'd be thinking long and hard about the Willys 392.

Maybe a Sport S 345.We only have a Gladiator because it rides nicer, if a Willy's 392 had been a thing 2 years ago, I'd probably own one.
Still crossing fingers for the Sport S 392 to get it down another 10k lol.
Why not have both??? We do!!! Both are Rubicon Diesels. I love them both, but if I had to get rid of one, it would probably be the Wrangler. The Gladiator rides a bit better on longer trips. Plus, I like having the bed for wet, dirty, nasty stuff when needed. The Wrangler with the extra trunk space is nice, but I have a DiamondBack tonneau cover that gives me secure dry storage with the Gladiator.Which do you like better, the gladiator or wrangler.
CAFE drove most of it.The fact that there's not a Mojave 392 is comical. The purpose of the Mojave deserves a V8.
My 3.6 Gerbil I mean V6 works it's ass off in the desert..... a V8 would make it perfect. Never needed a V8 ' rock crawling '. lmfao that the Rubicon Wrangler trim is where Jeep thinks a V8 is needed. Mall crawlers.
The Mojave is built to handle while hauling ass in the desert..... nah we don't think people want the 392 there.
Make it make sense.
