I always wave, which is a lot, because in South Florida it seems every 10th vehicle is a Wrangler / Gladiator. I even confuse some people because I reflexively wave from my weekday commuter, which is a 4dr sedan, and certainly not a Jeep.

I ride a VTwin about 10k a year and around here riders of all flavors of bikes wave when passing. The Jeeps around here don’t wave so much. I do, generally.
Same, except for the BMW riders. They only wave at other beemers.

Gladiator owner here. I've also had a couple of Wranglers ('92 & '05) as well as an '84 Cherokee.

Wranglers and Gladiators always get a wave from me. A really old Cherokee does to. The early '80s Cherokees looked a lot like Wranglers from the front so I always gave and got waves way back then.

My daughter has had a couple of Wranglers and I believe the "wave" is the reasons she loves them. It's good to be connected!
It’s good to have the connection, agreed. 👍

I always wave when driving a Jeep. I was determined the last time we were on vacation in the Virgin Islands to get other Jeep rental people to wave at me. I think I got one.

On the flip side, with my current ride (Ridgeline) I'm afraid if I try to wave at other RL drivers I might get another gesture. 😄
What is a Ridgeline?

I wave at about everyone, if it's a Jeep heck I even just wave. Easy to see how many distracted people who should be driving not texting or whatever else. Jeep model doesn't matter to me hell I've got 5 Jeeps, TJ UNLIMITED, XJ's, Comanche "MJ" and my JT. Years ago the CJ drivers snubbed anyone not in CJ the YJ snubbed anyone not driving a YJ or CJ. JK's snubbed anyone not driving a JK. Where I grew up you waved at people. Dang I've seen several threads on this and posted on them about the same thing. :like:

My first Jeep was a TJ about 20 years ago. I didn’t know anything about the wave beforehand, but quickly learned after noticing other Jeepers wave to me. I began to wave back and eventually began believing the wave was because we, who drove them as a daily driver, were all a little crazy and the wave was just a way of saying, “Hey, I’m a little crazy too”. I later had another TJ, a CJ-7, and now a JT. Jeeps have of course become quite a bit more civilized since my manual, half-door ragtop 4cyl TJ, but I still wave (most of the time). Just seems like the courteous thing to do.

I waved to just about all Wranglers and Gladiators when I first got my JT a few years ago. But quickly realized that most stock rigs did not wave back. So now I only wave when I see a Jeep with larger wheels or one that's lifted/modded. They almost always wave back or wave first.

Sometimes I do get a wave from an OEM Jeep and try to wave back if it's not too late.

I do not however partake in the duck thing. Maybe if I had young kids.
