No one's set off. By your own admission you know nothing about it so I'm giving you some info. You don't have to respect content creators or "influencers", you don't have to go out and take part, but at least know something about something before you go talking shit about it.

I’m definitely still stopping by when I go pickup the engine, but I’m guessing it’ll be in the fall, so zero rush. It’ll be a shiny new penny by then.

Same. This is as close to “social media” as I get. Besides maybe YouTube. My brain is rotten enough as it is. I don’t need to improve the composting of my brain wrinkles with drivel from the “in” crowd.

Appreciate it. I filed my first car insurance claim since 2001. Thankfully it’s approved and not totaled, as I intend to keep it forever. And I was so close. I didn’t know I had that mouth self control.

For the record, if this happens to you, you can always back out of a claim (if they don't pay, they can't claim). You should always ask what the "buyout price" is before continuing any part of the claim once they've appraised it.

I did this with a 2008 Outback I got for $3k after putting new tires/brakes on it. Found another 2008 Outback that needed brakes and an exhaust, insurance was about to total the first one (slid off road and bent A LOT, but still drove it home like that, even if the tire did split in half) so I asked what the buyout was. "$700 to buy it from us one the claim is complete". You bet your ass I bought it back for $700! Had it towed to a shop that put them both on lifts next to each other and they swapped wheels/tires, brakes, and the exhaust. Then I sold the first Outback for about $1k as a parts car to the shop. That second Outback was also bought for $3k, so for $4k I had a replacement with 50k less miles and all the same features. Granted I took a total loss in that deal but I didn't lose all the parts/money I invested.


As for your experience, this is why I stopped doing group rides when I had my race bikes. Too many ignorant assholes/hot heads that have egos bigger than Jupiter.

If you're ever in the north east, we can go see some cool views and hit some trails that are low key around my area if you want. I try to keep my rides under 5 vehicles and a combined preparedness if terms of equipment and skill.

Heck I brought a friend of a friend who didn't have 4L just to yank me out of a short trail in case I got stuck with them in my JT. They had a blast and thanked me for not encouraging them to take their truck through in 4H like they initially wanted to (their first time too).

I don’t even watch normal TV anymore. When I have a TV on in the background, it’s the YouTube channels I follow. I watch the Braves and UGA football on TV and that’s it.

Its damaging in all seriousness. I find myself doing it a lot and you have to literally snap out of it once you've gotten deep.
