I can't believe this, well actually I'm sure we all can. I noticed some bubbling on my hood. Looks like it might be rusting from the inside right on the edge. I opened the hood and looked at the weather stripping. I guess some road salt must have gotten past this weather stripping because it isn't in place correctly. Very frustrating. It is exactly the same on both side too. I wonder if this is some kind of design flaw and the weather stripping slowly works its way out of place or I just have a Friday truck and the guy building it just got lazy.

My 2025 JT weather stripping is identical. Pull the end of the weather strip down a little and you can see how it is attached.

Not sure what model year you have but this is a common problem with the first few years. It was covered under the corrosion warranty and they usually replace the panels with new painted to match the truck. If you’re not over 5 years old you may be covered and it could be fixed at no cost to you.

His profile says it’s a 2014 JKU

There are entire Facebook groups (if that’s your thing) dedicated to this issue. Very common on these vehicles.

My 2023 Gladiator is rusting on the edges too. It’s still under warranty. Gonna start checking the rest of the vehicle for corrosion and take it in for repair. Very disappointing.

Well you aren't missing much by not being on Facespace :)
There is an paint and corrosion warranty extension from the factory, though I am not clear on the details exactly. It sounds like its a little grey and at the dealers discretion.

I had some rust issues underneath my new 2024 Sport S. I was standing next to the service manager when he called the warranty adjudicator (my term). The word was there had to be bubbling paint to open a warranty claim. Looks like y’all have bubbling paint.

I just took mine to the dealer today for the same spot on the hood. My drivers door is also bubbling.

I check a friends hood today also, the same thing. Both 2021 model years

Filiform corrosion under the paint from contamination prior to paint being applied at the factory. This showed up on my hood. They replaced the entire hood under warranty. My 2021 jeep was about 3 years old at the time.

While my hood appears to be clean, I discovered today that my tailgate has a paint issue on the bottom edge, in the middle.

How are you all engaging the process, just making a dealer appt to specifically have it checked out?
