I'm in the process of installing the MB Quart 6x9 kit (JC2-169) in a 24+ sound bar.
The 6x9 are mounted to the new grills then speaker and grill are mounted to
the sound bar. I wonder how ridge this set up is. Will/do they resonate?
I'd rather see the a tradition plate mount set up.

i did the mb quartz 6x9. lost all bass but gained more volume on highs.
THAT WAS THE ANSWER i WAS CONCERNED ABOUT. THE SPEAKER IS NOT MADE FOR THE AIRSPACE SO ITS JUST MAINLY VOCALS. IN THE EVENT THAT THIS WAS THE POSSIBLE OUTCOME, i AM BUYING A SET OF ALPINE POP IN BLOW MOLDED UNITS SIMILAR TO THE ONE MENTIONED ABOVE BUT AN OLDER MODEL.

So far I have a 4channel amp coming and an 8.4 inch oem radio., the 7inch is just too small when I use carplay.

im also going to pick up the alpine units that go in the head bar. then i can focus on the front section

This set up added the right amount of balanced bass for me while not losing the under seat space

Add some fiber fill inside the sound bar that and sound deadening on the back behind the cones. That should dial in the sound production pretty well.

I did that on mine, and under the dash speakers (tweeters).

Factory Alpine system here. I just swapped in better speakers of the stock size. Mild improvement in the sound bar, big improvement in the front dash. The 3.5" speakers alone seem to matter the most. The stock Alpine 4" mid/bass speakers aren't all that bad at stock Alpine amp power levels. Maybe the non-Alpine factory stock speakers are worse and more in need of an upgrade. And as you say the overhead bar is mostly just fill for anyone in the front seats.

Assuming you have an amp, you can start with the 3.5" on the dash and see what you think. Then do the 3.5" overhead for a little better. Then the 4" overhead but there probably won't be much improvement. I wouldn't bother with the knee speakers unless you will be putting in something larger. Unless you have the stock non-Alpine speakers, in which case it may be worth upgrading everything just for power handling.
The speaker themselves are not any different. This has been discussed and proven a couple times between this forum and the wrangler forums.

I believe they changed in 24ish. I have metra adapters for my speaker upgrade and there were two different styles depending on the year of the truck.
The soundbar design changed, you can notice this when you look at the lights before/after MY2024. They may have changed wiring a bit too since the front seat lights were moved to the front roll bar near the mirror.

I paid someone to do the the Kicker KSS690 in the sound bar and Kicker KSS365 in the front, with the Kicker 47 Key 200.4 amp, and an 8 inch Rockford Fosgate sub. There was some cutting in the sound bar, but not a lot. It's been 2 months, and I am still smiling every time I hear a late 70s early 80s track like "In the flesh", where the bass wasn't before, and is now.

That’s my argument for 6x9. Fast paced bass. They’ll fill the deep stuff but 6x9 and quick hits is where it’s at.

I get that. But with a tight sub in the mix, I tend to prefer rounds for the highs and mids. But it’s personal preference. If I was skipping a dedicated sub, I totally agree.

Me too, I think round sounds better for highs and mids.

Now when it comes to bass, you can use square if you want. 😁

What really impresses me is how much better the sound is when the volume is real low. Like when there are other people in the truck, and they are chatting about something I don't care about and can tune out, the volume is low so they can talk (like at 5 or so), but I can still listen to the music and hear it all. I mean, the thump is good when I'm by myself, don't get me wrong, but the crispness when the volume is low is something I did not expect

I agree with you. If I had the scratch for it I’d do 3.5 component on the dash, 6.5 components in the kick panels, component 6x9 in the sound bar, 2x HS10 behind the seats, and leave the Alpine 8ā€ as is. Fiber filled and deadened that would make a perfect sound stage for the metal box we call a Gladiator cab. Should hit all the Hz ranges adequately. I have been eyeing the Memphis sub that’s a direct replacement though. I like the specs.

I didn’t go that far. Alpine 65 JLs in the sound bar, alpine 1ā€ tweeters in the dash, Oem kick panel, and one Memphis 10ā€ behind the rear passenger seat. 200w alpine amp powers all front and sound bar, including the Oem kick panel. Great for my purposes in a vehicle like this. I do have fiber fill in the sound bar and under the tweeters in the dash.
