Who's getting the bed liner? I like the look of the painted bed interior. But I know my hunting gear will scrape up the paint. Also, before anybody says something about hauling wood or how it's supposed to be scraped up... no this is not going to be a work truck. It's going to be a toy. Do you think there is a possibility that somebody will make a rubber mat for the bed?

I will also be wanting to put in a rubber mat. May take some time before someone comes out with one made just for the Gladiator. In the meantime I would just have a cut out piece of carpet put down as temporary protection for the bed bottom. Will put on a hard trifold tonneau cover as well.

I’ll be getting the spray in bed liner, my first. I suspect I’ll need the extra protection. As for the rubber mat, I suspect the aftermarket folks are working night and day on a ton of stuff for the bed. Even though im getting the factory bed liner I’m hesitant to get the factory cargo management group knowing the aftermarket folks are going to come up with some great ideas, but having the AC outlet and the inverter as part of the factory wiring harness is attractive.

I've been doing some research on factory vs aftermarket options. This is one where I don't think I'll get the factory option and instead I'll go aftermarket. Probably a bedrug bedliner (https://bedrug.com/). Hoping they'll have this ready for the JT asap.

Thanks for the suggestion Ralphjjr. What is interesting to note is that their bed liner also goes over the tailgate as well. And that is something that I was hoping someone would have. I have a bike rack that I would throw into the bed of the truck and was worried that I could scratch the paint on the inside of the tailgate without such protection for the tailgate. For certain will look for this when looking for a mat for the bed once these trucks are for sale on dealers lots.

I f I was looking to just lay down a rubber mat I would just start looking for a local shop that could custom cut one for me. I don't think it would coast as much as what the aftermarket company would charge and I would not have to wait for it to come to market. Plus I like to support my local shops.

My plan is to omit the bed liner initially then in a year or 2 when the bed starts to get dinged up get it bed lined. This way I am able to save some $$ up front on a truck that I know is not going to be cheep. I'm at a sport s hard top and side steps with 7" radio and roll up cover under $45,000 out the door or I'm walking.

Me too on price first. I'm cool with a scratched up bed. It's my truck. If I have room in the build, I'll get factory because I like the look.

I plan on purchasing a 4x6 horse rubber stall mat, cut it to fit and see how that works. Cheap, easy and “custom”. The perfect combination.

One thing about the factory spray in, when there is a mistake, they correct or scrap it. Or if there is a mistake that makes it through, you can have it fixed. Seen enough after market spray ins that aren’t very good. Not much can be done.

I regret not getting the bedliner on my Colorado, and never ended up wanting to pay the money aftermarket. just looks a lot nicer since I use the bed a lot.

After seeing the factory bed liner at Detroit I will most likely be getting it from factory. I just wish it was sprayed on the bed rails also. I would like to element the plastic side rail protectors. I think its just a place to hole salt and moisture.

So it's not sprayed on the bed rails, and instead has plastic covering those areas?
