Carmax seems to have decent deals lately from time to time. I just bought a pretty loaded 2022 Gladiator Rubicon EcoDiesel for 37k with 46k miles on it, it seemed like the best deal around with base models selling for the same price.

The problem with Jeeps for new buyers, and the great thing for owners is that if you wait long enough the vehicle starts going back up again in pricing. I see a lot of early 2000 TJ Jeeps today going for close and in some cases MORE than whet they sold for new.

I have made money on every single one of my 5 Jeeps. I bought a 2005 Rocky Mountain edition, 1 year old with 15k miles for $17,000 in 2007. Ran that car for 6 years and added 60k miles to it, and all I did was professionally install a good 2" lift kit and put on 32" BFG AT tires on it. I got $16,000 in trade in for that Jeep! And the dealer told me he sold it to an employee the same day I traded it in.

I bought a 2012 JKU Sport from Carvana in 2018 with only 50k miles on it, basically for MSRP on what it cost new. I ran that Jeep for a year and added 25k miles to it and sold it back to Carvana for $1,000 less than what I paid. It lasted ONE day as a listing on their site.

I bought a 2022 Gladiator Rubicon in May using this site. Absolutely the best search experience.
Cool site, but I am looking for a manual transmission, and that site seems to scrape all of the info and randomly assign manual transmission to vehicles that do not have it.

I guess it would be awful to trade/sell your 60k+ 3 year old truck for $22k....but people are doing just that, and the dealership is still asking $45k for it. The private party sales are not plentiful (I assume most people still have loans and just opt to trade in or sell to a dealer rather than figuring out how to pay off the loan... paying off the loan also requires cash and advanced planning to have a title at sale time).

Just going to stay patient, this is a want, not a need. Most of what I am watching is not moving, and I am sure the recent recall isn't helping the issue. I will make some calls at the end of the month and see if anyone wants to sell a jeep.

I bought a 2015 Camaro SS in 2018. Certified pre-owned. It had 26K miles on it. It has 55K miles on it now.

According to book values, it's worth about $2K less than I paid for it 🤣

People are still coping and thinking used vehicle prices are like they were during COVID. We are DONE with that. Just wait. Eventually they'll go down in price.

The used market is sellers believing we're still in a 2021/22 market, and non-buyers that got a deal 10 years ago still telling actual buyers there's deals to be had out there.

My Gladiator, and last two motorcycle purchases were new because used was near-new prices, or "deals" were thrashed machines. "Wow I can save $200 over new and get a rusted motorcycle that lived 24/7 on a hitch carrier on your RV, and you're firm on price also? Incredible."

I paid 35K for my very well equipped 22 JTM with 29K miles in March with a winch, bumper, sliders and Sunrider (among other smaller things). The Chevy dealer didn't know what they had, they took it in trade. Had it been a Jeep dealer I'd have been over $40K as it sat. But it also took me a very long time to track down the specific options I wanted combined with relatively low mileage. I used Autotempest to find it.

I signed up for a month on that site, which probably produces more accurate results. Definitely worth it.

Exactly the same for me except for the Autotempest stuff. 👍

I feel like I got a good deal from Carvana. I bought a Bright White 2025 Gladiator Sport S with 8k miles on it for 35K back in April this year and sold my Bright White 2012 JKU with 63K miles for 15k. The only thing I've done to the Glady is bigger tires, Falcon shocks, Rubicon rock sliders front and back, headliner and Blue Ox tow base plate to be used for flat towing.
