Hey JL-Engineline I am just curious about something here. I have read that the JT is now being built on I believe about 2 shifts daily. And I know that some white Rubicons are all for some Government order. And I know Jeep has some Launch Editions in the works too. And I believe Jeep will crank out some the way they want them built and will send them to dealers to sell as built. And I have read about delivery dates starting a good time from now(not exactly certain when any will hit dealers lots).

But what I am curious about is what are they doing with the ones that they are building now. Do they just park them in a huge parking lot in Toledo? Or are they shipping any to the Government? Am wondering why they don’t just go ahead and ship them to dealers if they are already built. I just got a $500 coupon in the mail from Jeep and it’s only valid until the end of this month. Can’t even think of using it on a Gladiator if Jeep parks them on a lot in Toledo and does not ship out any built trucks. Love ya know the inside 411. And just for my info how many do they now build each day? Love to know. Thanks

I saw a picture of a line of white Rubicons somewhere and it was stated that those were all for the Government project. Did not write down where it was when I looked at it. Just remember seeing it. Sorry. Perhaps JL-Engineline can confirm this.

Doubt it..... not going to regurgitate previous discussion, but there is no verification to this rumor and the Gov would not buy Rubicons. Sport maybe.

I could see another foreign government or the UN placing a large order for whatever the cost is but not the USG. Too many procurement hoops to go through that would allow purchasing vehicles at an unknown price.

See this post from JL-Engineline:

Update. JT is going to critical launch.
80 Units were built yesterday on 1st shift, all white Rubicons . All were built for the Government. So for all who doubted me, **** it.

The ones being produced now are probably dealer allocation. Configs that Jeep came up with themselves that they probably will ship to dealers. However, they are probably trying to drop them into dealers at roughly the same time.

I’ll bet in a few days or weeks we will hear about that exact date when those gladiators will be on dealer lots.

As for the government order - I trust the JL-Engine shared the info that was shared with him. We can all speculate what we want, maybe it was a code word, maybe it really is the government, maybe it’s bad intel.

Regardless the fact is:

1) you still can’t buy a gladiator at a dealer

2) we have no clue when we can actually place a custom order... unless you want an LE...

My new theory is that the Government orders were actually the Launch Editions! Not a slight against JL-Engineline, just wishful thinking that they’ve been churning them out for 3 weeks now.

“The Government order for just over 7k JT's has been verified. These 7k units must be built before any can be sold to public consumers. JT is going to go on a critical launch mandatory 7 days a week for up to 3 months if needed to complete orders. No announcement on when the launch will start. Rumor is 2-3 weeks.”

7k JTs that need to be built before any others? Critical launch for up to 3 months—perhaps through august?

Just sayin’, my tinfoil hat senses think these parameters could roughly fit the JTLE!

That is a very reasonable assumption

Glad to see they had good taste and sprung for the body color hardtop and fender flares! At least on some of them... Usually we’re fans of uniformity for Government purchases.
