Just my mind going astray. Yes I do agree wind noise could be an issue, No more than any other roof rack that you would find on a JK or JL. Just throwing more ideas out there on racks."perfect"(?) for the hardcore "professional" YouTube Overland-Exploring Fanatic type, but for 99% of the "rest of us," just to much potential for excessive wind noise for everyday use.
Is this contraption a thing ? or just a talented mind gone astray ?![]()

Here is a custom rack I did for my LJ. I have no issue with wind noise and no loss in gas mileage. The air dam on the front Made a huge difference to eliminate noise.dang, i didn't think about wind for any of these.........poopcicles!
did you make those fancy indentations in the air dam to help with wind, structure, or asthetics? They look like the venturi things that honda uses on their sunroof air spoiler and on the back of Mitsubishi Evos, KINDA.Here is a custom rack I did for my LJ. Its a modified roofrack from an FJ. I did all the fab work.I tried finding a good photo of the new EVO JT, but they did some kind of wind dam with theirs too. Doesn't have the little scoop things like you did. by the way, did you weld up that rack or have some fab shop make it, but to your specs? Looks nice!
Good answer. Keep posting them renders. Idle hands and all thatHere is a custom rack I did for my LJ. I have no issue with wind noise and no loss in gas mileage. The air dam on the front Made a huge difference to eliminate noise.

... but a simple bed rack will meet my cargo needs without the wind noise. As a grown-@$$ man, I love me some 80/20... like playing with a building toy except whatever you build is freaking real and useable. So for any of you that are interested in doing your own fab work. here is a really cool product I have used to fabricate rack parts for my jeeps. Here is there website.

Its a great product and extremely strong. Its like building with an erector set. All you need is a little imagination.
Here are a couple of pics from there site.

While I like the animated version very much, it doesn't include all of @Bobs85Reny creations, I seem to recall an entire plywood genre missing. =(
