@Scar4181 Are you still doing new orders at below invoice pricing? That message thread seems to have been deleted.
I am still doing orders at the previous pricing I had posted, contact me direct for details. I had to delete the old posting as another dealer in our area was trying to make trouble for us and the use of the word "invoice".

San Leandro CDJR in the San Fran Bay Area are charging $20,000 over MSRP! Visiting from Colorado. Told them I had already ordered my Overland before my dealer had

one the lot (I hadn't even seen or touched a JT yet.) They were nice enough, gave my wife and I plenty of time to crawl thru it. Then we saw the window sticker. Dang! I heard they are the only shop in the area to have any. One Rubi and 2 Overlands loaded, then marked up 38%. Chumps!
That's insane, @DanoLoCo !
I'm in the SF Bay Area, too. Normandin Jeep in San Jose - at MSRP: no deals, but no mark up either.

I love how the free marketeers go silent on threads like this. Where are you? The dealers exposed marking up Vehicles are the champions of unbridled capitalism. Look & See! Don't we cheer as we see markets set the price? Do you celebrate these souls our forces defend? Huh? Say so now...

(Oh by the way bail outs for everyone when obvious lack of morals, human decency, and utter lack of community go awry). Oh, I forgot. It's just good business.

The hell with all of them.

Make a decent product, sell at a reasonable profit. Serve the customer well. Build our communities, our nation. Make it worth defending!

That is the better version of America, and that's the truth. Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!!

I'd add Nyle Maxwell Jeep in Austin to the list. They have a Gladiator sport (no max tow package) with a factory sticker of $45,660 on sale for only $52,986. I saw it a few days ago and there was nothing done to it like a lift or wheels to warrant a 7k+ increase.

OK, I'll bite. I'm all for Capitalism but I despise Hyper-Capitalism. Sure, Capitalism says a dealer should compete with other dealers for the best prices and good customer service to make a profit. That's cool. With Hyper-Capitalism, dealers create phony demand, phony special editions, phony protection packages and lie to the customer at each and every opportunity to squeeze every last dollar possible. Yes, this is definitely a short-term business practice. It's a scorched earth business practice. Eventually, such dealers will run out of ignorant customers. They may even fold, but they don't care because by that time the owners will be living on a private island in the Caribbean.

That is not Capitalism. That's profiting from fraud. Such dealers get away with it because they spend so much money on TV and newspaper advertising that no journalist will expose them.

While FCA can't control what dealers charge, I recall they were getting concerned about all the bad press from the Hellcat Challenger several years ago. Dealers were adding insanely ridiculous markups when the Hellcats first came out. It created so much bad press for FCA, as I understand it, they told their dealers to cool it with the markups because they were tired of hearing from seriously pissed off potential customers. It was quite literally hurting the brand and FCA reserves the right to pull any franchise for tarnishing the brand. (I saw this happen at a Toyota Dealership in Virginia when I lived there.) Maybe we'll see a similar situation with the Gladiator?

Really Appreciate your words on this. I knew a guy who slapped on a high tag to NOT sell it, wanting the advertisement value alone to drive walkups. So, can't assign motivation. It just eats at me that Joe blow can't afford a fun vehicle like this, when it's him fighting for freedom. And the people who can afford it behave so indecently on the national stage, completely abdicating their duty to country, true also can't assign motivation, but wow.

“I don’t usually troll dealer Facebook pages, but when I do it’s the most ridiculous of dealers with douchebag sales tactics.

Stay thrifty my friends...”
