Same at 820 credit; credit union locally was 2.75% for 60months. Fine with me; I pay off vehicles early anyway. Took delivery Tuesday by the way- the entire staff was awesome and I got to meet Travis who’s an insanely busy man.

Did anyone finance with Travis? Was wondering how it went and what kind of rates he could offer?
I went through him for my lease. He emailed my a couple of quotes in the week before I picked it up so I could evaluate my options. There was no pressure for me to make a decision either way.

His numbers are high but not supper high. I got 1% higher with him than I would at PNC. 802 credit score. I’ll keep it for 90 days then refinance with pnc. It’s a simple interest loan so you can put a hefty down payment on your first payment and pay little interest.

When I purchased my Kia for my wife to get 1500$ off you had to finance through Kia finance. Their rates were like 6.5%-7.5%. But only had to keep theirs for 60 days. In the long run you won’t pay 1500 or even 500$ in interest in the first 60 days. So it’s usually a savings to go through them then refinance.

For everyone getting those awesome deals I have a quick question. I test drove a manual bare bones sport s yesterday and afterwards they wanted to run some numbers to see where I would be if I eventually wanted to buy one. I asked if this just "running numbers " would need my social security number and salesmen says yes but it won't effect your credit at all... So I said ehh sure I'll give it to you if I can have it in writing from your sale manager that it won't go agenst my credit. He says sure comes back with nothing in writing so I don't give them my number but ten minutes later comes back with this sheet ( guess he was lieing about the won't hit your credit) anyways they have this worked out basically where if you finance through these two companies you get a discount but the kicker is max 10% down. He says they give them the discount but they graciously pass it on to us lol...I wanted to put down 5k whenever I get mine and pointed that out to him. I know with some of the deals it's 5% off or 4 if you finance somewhere else but is everyone still being allowed to put down whatever dollar amount you want? I want to put down more and still have the 4 to 5 discount because there's no way I'm paying this much a month on a bare bones sport s. I could be paying that much for a Rubi that's understandable even with 5k down. Am I out of my league here or is this just an outrageous payment? Haven't haggled with them yet because I won't be able to order till next year but if this is the best they got I'll look elsewhere or is this going to truly be the payments I'm going to be looking at? Any feedback would be great

I was only able to put 7500 down on mine. (Long story but my bank took too long sending me the funds form my savings account. I had planned on putting 27K down). Travis would let me put whatever down. If they are giving you a deal great go with them and then refinance whenever you can. My payments are around 650 a month on a Rubicon for 72 months. this will go down to about 300 after i put the rest down and refinance.

As long as it is a simple interest loan, you can put down (after 30 days) as much as you want. This will not change your monthly payment because they are set at the time of closing the deal. However, it will change the amount you owe on the truck, lowering your overall interest payment and the life of your loan. then when you are able (I am waiting 90 days as a courtesy to travis and tri city) refinance with what ever bank gives you the best rate. i will lower my APR by about 1-1.5% and get my payment down to that 300$ point. I may still pay the 600$ a month to terminate teh loan faster but it is my option at that point if i want a low payment or a fast pay off. Best part about that too is i can go back and forth each month if i need or pay off more when i have the funds available.

long story short, if the dealer is offering anything but a simple interest loan... walk away!

So what I got would be like a non simple interest loan? Glad I'm learning more instead of rushing to buy one. I've got till next year so I want to learn everything I can money wise so I know I made the right choice. Thanks

That looks horrible! What interest rates are they quoting? Looks like 13%?

It honestly made me freak out. In the back of my mind I was thinking if I have to make a monthly payment like that on just a bare bones sport s I'll never be able to afford one

The best deal A.P.R. wise Travis can get (as of two weeks ago) was 4.7 Honestly you would be better off going with a credit union. USAA had 3.39 for 60 months, over the life of the loan you would save 1800 which is way better than the 1% below invoice.

I got 4.6% for 48 months with Travis. Going to refinance with penfed after 3 months at 2.49% 36 months.

Picked up mine from Travis and Tri-City on Tuesday. Only took 7 weeks and 1 day from the time I ordered it. I cannot stress enough how great Travis and the whole Tri-City team was. It was by far the easiest car buying experience I have ever had. It was well worth the 7 hour round trip drive to pick it up. I got a great deal, and when I arrived the price I paid was exactly what Travis quoted me, and he "added" the Trail Lightly discount to the deal, which wasn't available when I ordered it. It was a friendly and zero sales pressure atmosphere when I arrived and the finance manager only asked me once if I was interested in the extended warranty, didn't try to sell it too me, and moved on when I said no. I cannot begin to describe how great Travis and Tri-City was, and I highly, highly recommend them!!!!!

I just got back from picking up my gladiator from Travis. Everything was super simple. I financed thru Travis. I have low 800 credit and got a competitive rate given he took another 1% off for financing thru him.

The longest part was getting the insurance binder from nationwide, which was not their fault. Nationwide call center agent was awful.

Imran, the finance guy, is awesome. All of the paperwork was ready and we walked in his office and were back out in 5 mins.

I can not recommend enough purchasing from Travis. I got 7% below invoice and it was well worth the 350 mile drive from Pittsburgh thru the hills and valleys of West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, and NC.

Also if you need to stay overnight, the Hampton Inn is 500 feet from tri city and a decent hotel. Other places we passed look a bit sketchy.

We picked up our Sting Gray JT last Friday. Travis and his team were great. There was some confusion on taxes paid to the State of Georgia. Once I pointed it out, Travis got it corrected and new numbers run. It was $1800 in my favor. So check things closely for your state. Overall a good transaction just took a little longer because of the tax issue.

How did you end up getting 7% below invoice? Did you special order through him or buy off the lot?
