I will personally not be unmarrying my Tazer. There are laws on the books with plenty of case law supporting such laws protecting me from voiding my warranty. On the other hand running larger tires without reprogramming will make the odometer numbers incorrect. This could cause a issue in court once the millage of my truck gets close to the warranty expiration.

I am also a extremely cheap person and will be going to my dealer for my free oil changes. I may just have to ask to talk to the tech beforehand to make sure we are on the same page as to what the job details.

I thought larger tires caused the odometer to show less and the speedo to read slow? Interesting

I have always took care of every bit of maintenance on my Jeeps , but I have this Gladiator & it's about time for my first oil change, to keep my warrantee I need to have them service it right ? also have the JL mini do I unmarry it from the Jeep & remove it or not . I don't trust even a dealer touching my stuff i'm a scarred LOL
Changing oil elsewhere (home or Jiffylube) doesn’t affect warranty... but Tazer might! I’d unplug mini anyway, so no one steals it!
Don’t forget, Gladiators come with synthetic oil! ;{

I looked for hours online trying to figure out if changing my own oil would void my JKUR warranty. I read all the paperwork that came with it and couldn't find anything that talked about who has to change the oil. I just ended up changing my own oil as it's extremely easy to do with JKs and I got a damn good sale last time I went to buy oil/filters.
No warranty void! ;{

If I pull the trigger and get one of these - I want to run GOOD oil, not cheap stuff, I want the best oil and the best oil filters - the new synthetic type filters like Mobil1 offers, not cheap paper.
So I'll be talking with 'em about that.
I know the Chevy dealer charges an arm, both legs and your first born for synthetic. Makes no sense these days as the difference isn't that great and synthetic can lead to better MPG, etc..
I've run full synthetic in my 4.0 for years, as well as both differentials in my Eagle (had to switch to synchromesh in my T5)
If they give me any XXX, I guess I'll have to show them the letter I got years ago from Plymouth recommending to any of their service departments that they hire me.......... HA - I bet I get some odd looks then.
I will ask specifically WHAT oil they use - and check to see if the wear rating is over 100,000 psi and on 540rat's list of top oils.
If not, I'll be doing my own. Or taking my own oil (so I don't have to worry about disposal). I've probably got more years in the field than most working at these shops anyway.

As others stated, your warranty is not voided by changing fluids yourself or the quick lube places. Keep your records.

Plugging things into ODBII does not void warranties either with exceptions for engine tuner, programmer. Adjusting tire sizes for speed will not cause engine damage but monkeying with air-fuel mixtures, spark and such carries risk. Any reasonable dealer will understand the difference.

I have no real love for dealerships these days due to the sh!tty way they treat people time after time. I do understand that they should not be responsible for fixing anything I break. I don’t own a Tazer yet, but I haven’t seen any functionality there that the sh!tty dealer near me would hassle me over.

Just had my first oil change as part of Jeep wave. Don't trust them much at all, but on this vehicle it's easy enough to check behind them. Just make sure the dipstick shows clean oil, up to the correct level and that the drain plug is tight (had that problem before). Totally get why a lot of people want to do it themselves as dealer service departments can be inconsistent. No issues with the first service on the JT though.

Had my first Jeep Wave service last Friday at a dealership I normally do not go to since they had a "Express Lane" service and my normal dealership was booked solid and they put 6 quarts of oil in and under torqued the wheels. First and last time going to that dealership. Could have made the stink for them to fix it and they probably would but I lost trust and drove the short distance home and just correctly torqued my wheels and Mity-Vac'd the extra 1 quart of oil out and called it a day.

Normally I Fumoto Valve my vehicles and do the oil changes myself, just for once I wanted to use a offered service. Next time, will use my regular dealer I trust but if they screw the pooch also, I am done and back to doing it myself.
