I have had my gladiator now for 9 days and only put 275 miles on it. Got my first warning light at 60 miles. It was a start/ stop malfunction. Today it came back with the check engine. Initially I did auto start with the fob and it shut off within 1 min, which I though was weird. Got in and started again and the start/stop light & CEL lights were on.
So back to the dealer Saturday. I hope this is not an indication of what owning a gladiator is going to be like.
I have owned Jeeps all my life with never issues.
Anyone else have similar engine light issue? What was done to correct it?

Search around either here or on the JL Wrangler forum for the Start/Stop being disabled and not working. There is a few long threads on the subject and it is not a one size fits all solution. Some have had wiring issues, the second battery and few other things it could be.

First thing you do is check to make sure ALL fuses and relays are firmly seated in the panel under the hood. Lots of times they're loose from the factory.

Then disconnect all battery power using the instructions in the manual to allow everything to reset.

Then drive it for a while to adequately charge the main and aux batteries fully. If this doesn't do the trick, the dealer may have to do a "relearn" procedure on the Jeep which is complicated and time consuming.

Well they cleared the codes and there was a stored code for misfire #2 cylinder. 1 day later the check engine light is back on and its going back to the dealer today. I know for a fact this this same fault code came up during final assembly inspection as well. So why did jeep ship the truck when this was an issue right off the assembly line?? thanks for sending me a $60K lemon @JeepCares

Final inspection results should be included with all shipments - no one else has any idea if there were issues during build/inspection. You are one up with insider info.

I may have access to insider info but that in now way stops we from dealing with the same BS as everyone else here is dealing with. From what I've been told, 10 other JT's had the same misfire issue as mine on the day mine was built.
Sound more like crank them out rather than quality control.
No sweat off Jeep's back. They get the money from the sale and then we have to make monthly payments while it sits in the shop while no one know what to do to fix the problem. I've owned Jeeps all my life but this may be the last one. Practices like this leave a bad taste in my mouth. Jeep has slowly went downhill since Fiat took over.

Nothing against your insider knowledge, but I'm sure it has no sway with the service department at your dealer. My point is that if FCA had to provide a quality report with every delivery they would be more apt to produce a higher quality product. You know they had an issue with your build and it apparently was 'OK' to ship, basically passing the fix on to the dealer service department instead of fixing it at the source.
You didn't get the Jeep Wave, you got the FCA Finger.
Having the report in hand when you take the complaint to the dealer would hopefully speed up the repair process and eliminate the denials so often heard. Inconveniencing the customer with the current process does not build brand loyalty, and reading about it in the forums makes potential customers leary.

When was yours built? Mine was built in Mid September, and has been throwing p0300 code. Multiple cylinder misfire. Had it in the shop for one week, after i had only owned it a week. Got it back, same code a week later which was last Thursday, still in shop again. Its been in the shop more than my driveway. Its frustrating because i flew to NC to pick it up. Got $1500 of parts of so on it, most arent removable. Going on vacation this week, and was looking forward to showing off my truck, now im in some stupid loaner..

This is a know issue for sure. I do know that so many were leaving the line with misfires that the line workers alerted the higher ups and the engineers are supposedly working on it. Why they are still sending them knowing this issue is beyond me. There is no TSB on the issue that I'm aware of. I was told by one engineer on the platform that the engine just needs to be ran hard for 10-15 minutes similar to if there was a stuck valve.. I dont know what that means but I'm not going to be the one to run it hard and blow the engine. The dealer can figure it out.
I personally think it is something more along the lines of a new module or electrical that was introduced for the JT cause this engine has been around a while and there are not issues with the GC platform that uses the same engine. Anyone know if the JL guys are having misfire issues?

I've already contacted my lawyer and if FCA wont buy it back ill have to deal with lemon lawing it. Its frustrating because i flew to NC to pick it up. It was built on 10/24. But this has been a problem for many.
