Man’ having anything aftermarket shipped to Canada is just brutal! Shipping charges are way to high & they use couriers that kill us Canadians with import charges! Wish they would all just use usps regular shipping

Installed Ace sliders today...no broken bolts. Heated the bolts with mikwaukee heat gun on high for a few minutes before remiving each. Pretty easy install.
Looks good!
Did you notice if the bolts had red or blue loctite?

I like your approach and will follow your lead! Can you give me a part number for the antenna and the firestik ring mount? I'll probably bring it to my dealer to install. THANKS! George Bethlehem Pa
So, the antenna is the FireStik FL3-B Three Foot FireFly Antenna With Tuneable Tip (Black). And the FireStik ring mount is the FireStik K8R9 9ft. W/PL259 & Firering Connector. That said, if I had it to do over, I'd find the Firering connector with an 18 foot wire. They sell them in different lengths. I spent a fair amount of time chasing down the SWR tuning and one of the things I did during my troubleshooting was to add a 9 foot extension cable. Also, bear in mind that I had to clip the PL259 connector off of the cable I bought, to pass the wire through the firewall of the Jeep, then solder a new connector on. If you're having yours installed, the shop should be able to handle that, but it's worth noting that will potentially add an expense.

Placed some welting in between the body and fenders. I was so tired of digging out damn Norway spruce needles getting lodged in the crevice. Per another member suggestion on here, Ordered some Trim-Lok rubber tubing. Should do the trick.

Installed the Ace Engineering rock sliders. Used an extra long 1/2" ratcheting wrench and no heat. Saw no evidence of red Loctite on any of the bolts, but five were consistently tough to turn during the entire withdrawal. Even a Snap-On 1/2" impact wrench on a commercial air compressor was unable to turn them off. Whatever is on them just gums them up all of the way. The trick of using a pry bar while turning the last couple turns was necessary on a couple of them to get them to pull out. Install was a piece of cake. Really like that they fit with the Rubi rock rails ...

I really like these rock rails. However, just a random thought here: I have the Shrockworks rock sliders on my JK. They look quite similar to the Ace Engineering, however, they use several more bolts to secure them to the frame. I'd have no hesitation in using a Hi-Lift to raise one side of my JK on those rock rails. The Ace Engineering are not as securely mounted. For what I now do--overlanding--they are perfect. Seriously, they will be used mostly to climb into the Jeep, and to keep door dings at bay (267,000 miles on my JK, and no door dings ever. Plenty of trail rash, but no door dings, LOL). If you're a rock crawler, you might want to take a look at Shrockworks, which just became available. See if the JT rock rails are similarly strong to the JK ...

Traveled to VA to visit family.

Had a great time hanging out with my teenage nephew who helped with mounting my Warn Winch Plate and Warn EVO VR-12S winch.

Great to see young kids with a wrench in their hands - just wish they did grow so much taller than me... ha!

Looks great! Exactly what I will be installing very soon. Any issues with the install?
