Actually, I have an update!
Swapped emails with Ward Harris, a NA dealer for Long Range America tanks, and he says they have installed a JL aux tank into a JT with success, are in the middle of doing 2 more & are tweaking brackets/Etc to improve the application. He says they will have an official kit for the JT ready for market in April. 17 additional gallons in tank installed on opposite side of driveshaft.
He also says he has 'every confidence' that they will have a kit for the diesel as soon as they can get their hands on one-
I’m very interested in this and looked at the website.

Is there a plausible way to protect the added tank? Would you have to fabricate a custom skid plate?

Will these be connected with, and just add to, the original tank capacity? Just fill both up at the same time with the preexisting fuel inlet?

If it adds 17 gallons to increase the capacity to a total of 39 gallons, how will the fuel gage react? Will it show roughly half a tank when there is approximately 19.5 gallons remaining or something else?

Not that’s it’s a big deal, but would there be a way to modify the “range” display to account for the 39 gallons?

Patience young grasshopper ;-)
We all have the same questions and hopefully they’ll be answered in April. Personally, I’m going to hold off any exhaust modifications (Magnaflow Rock Crawler) until I can confirm that the exhaust won’t affect the installation of the second tank although I suspect it will actually be easier...

Just watch the video posted earlier on the JK install, I would think the JL/JT would be very similar. The new tank fits in the space opposite the oem tank & leaves the stock tank in place. If you watch carefully, there is a new filler neck that has a ‘Y’ in it, so you’re filling both tanks at the pump. There is a transfer pump that moves the fuel from the new tank to the factory tank, and a fuel level gauge built into the transfer tank button. When your stock gauge/tank gets low, hit the button & fill from the aux tank.

That sounds nice. I have the larger fuel tank in my current ram and its nice having the extra gas to extend the range

I just added my 2nd 5 gal Jerry can. No offense to any one who thinks they are in love with "RotoPacs" but they are junk. The classic Jerry can and the newer NATO 5 gal cans are far superior. I looked at the 5 gal Rotopax thing and it was almost 5 feet long. Say what?and the smaller ones don't even hold 2 Gallons. 2 Gallons is about 20 miles off road, give or take depending on terrain. I wish there was a bigger tank but for now I'll take the classic Jerry cans. 2 = a half tank of fuel for the JT. Thats useful.

From what I'm seeing, I'll stick with my "Jerry cans" too. I've got at least 4 20l cans and 2 or so NATO ones. If any one is thinking about the blitz metal cans plan on using fuel tank sealant before use to prevent rusting at seams. I used 2 or 3 5 gal gas cans back when I was living in Europe back in 90s "overlanding" camping with my Comanche.
It doesn't take long to decide to take gas with you after paying a few $ per liter of gas, gas was lower cost in CZ then. Another option could be a boat gas tank strapped down in bed? Not as a D.D. situation but overland / off-roading trip.

So I've had one can for a while (20 years), but it got sanded and repainted. I've had the two mounts for a while to, and have had to strip and repaint them as well. They are the hardest pieces to obtain at times. If you see them, buy them, used or new.
For the Jerry cans; https://www.harborfreight.com/5-gallon-jerry-can-99551.html?_br_psugg_q=5+gallon+gas+can
Also check out Farm Supply stores and Army Nave stores.
Mount; https://www.ebay.com/itm/JERRY-GAS-...epid=0&hash=item44429f16a6:g:Y~gAAOSwWlFbksnj
Mounting; I used 3/8's zinc hardware, mounted through the side wall. A washer on both sides, with an added lock washer on the nut side (easy access between the rear quarter panel and the side wall of the bed) a rubber washer between the Jerry can mount and the bed wall (Lowes has these in 3/8) heavy sticky back (3/8's) foam insulation tape on the bed, under the Jerry can mount. I also put the sticky back foam tape in the Jerry can mount. My goal was to not have any metal on metal contact both for the gas can to mount, and the mount to the truck, and its not that hard. I used a ratcheting tie down strap to secure the can to the mount &
weather proof bike lock cables thru the gas can handles with weather proof Master locks. The locks & cables are locked to the bed tie downs. I'm happy to take some pictures if there is an interest.
Fuel transfer; Un-mount the can and set it on the corner at the top of the bed walls, above the fuel intake for the truck, behind the rear window and siphon. I keep 3/8 vinyl hose in a 1 gallon zip lock bag under the rear seat. I have the spouts with me, but they are more of a pain in the butt than anything.
I also have a sand color 5 gallon NATO Jerry can on the back bumper of my off road trailer in the newer basket style mount.
Nato Mount: https://www.amazon.com/Style-Steel-Jerry-Holder-Liter/dp/B00VVFTDVK About half this price on Ebay.
These basket style mounts also work excellent for the 6 gallon water cans.

THESE OLD STYLE Jerry can mounts still allow you to haul plywood with the Jerry can(s) removed. and still allow access to the tie downs to secure loads.

Questions? Comments? Complaints? How about a "Like"? Thanks!

Emailed Long Range last week and they said that until the Gladiator makes it to the Australian market, they can't create one for it...but since Australia is to be the 2nd biggest market for the Gladiator I guess it may be only a matter of time...
