Truck bed mat for Gladiator, rubber?

I have the Smartliner and it is meant for JTs without the sprayed in bedliner. I have the bedliner and the Smartliner doesn't lay flat and it's a hair long so I really need to slam the tailgate shut.

I also have the Smartliner and OEM bedliner. Perfect fit. No issues with closing the tailgate gently.

Just took another look at the Amazon link for the Smartliner mat for the 2020 Gladiator in my first post above (#69).

The description given says:

• Only Fits Crew Cab with spray in bed liner or no bed liner.Only Coverage for truck bed only. Anti-skid Surface to prevent cargo load from sliding.

So this unit is intended to fit the bed either with or without the factory spray-on?

Spray in liners are not thick and bed rubber mats are not tight against the sides of the truck. It should fit no problem with or without the spray in.

Almost makes you think there might have been a revised version, after the first production run, to take care of some inconsistency on size. Maybe?

I'm thinking the wording is to mean that either a Spray-on bed-liner or No spray-on liner (bare) will accept this mat.
But if you have a Plastic inserted bed-liner, this mat will not work with that type of liner.
At least that's how i interpret it.

Looking at the Smartliner that looks different than. The Deezee style rubber mat are not that tight fitting. The Smartliner looks like a Weathtech Floorliners mat for the bed. My apologies.

No worries. It has a raised lip that is meant to catch spills. I think it’s the raised lip that is causing the issue.
