Holy crap! If you can get 1500 more and only spend 500 more, well you found a glitch in the system! Time to make bank!

Only takes a few minutes to remove the hard top and not hard to store. I normally totally removed my soft top on the JKU instead of just flipping it back but even on the rare occasion I did just flip it back, at least it didn't look ridiculous. Oh yeah, and how about that resale value.
Calm down man! Nobody is saying the hard top sucks. Relax already...

My Gladiator is my 10th Jeep and 8 of the other 9 all had soft tops. From CJs to JKs and even them ole squared headlight Jeeps and never had a leaking soft top. The convenience of the soft top most definitely out weighs where it sits when its open. Not to mention how easy it is to take completely off and keep in the bed under cover if you wanted to. Can you even do that with the hard top? So call it what you want because of the way it looks, the top is absolutely fantastic.
^^^THIS. At first I wasn't a fan of the Overland soft top and how it looked opened. But the convenience of it far outweighs the drawbacks. The only people I hear bitching about it are other jeep owners (that have a hard top or can't afford a Gladiator) To each his own, I say.

I have a soft top, but it will never see the top of my Jeep. I just don't like how they look on the JT, really I don't like how they look just on them in general, has little to do with how they look folded, but that doesn't help the case. They were convenient on the JKs because the hard top was so heavy, the JT hard top weighs only about 20lbs me guessing. I can have it removed completely in less than 10 minutes.

I really like the look of my body colored hardtop, but found a good deal on a new (in the box) OEM soft top. I saw the original post about the "Man-Bun" look and I definitely chuckle when I see my JT parked with the top back, but nothing compares (IMO) to being able to flip two levers and push the top back. Yes, at some point I'll spend the full 15 minutes to go completely topless - but the convenience of having the option to flip the top back and forth in less than 2 minutes is awesome! The smile on my (and my wife's) face driving around in my convertible truck way out ways the Man-Bun look, plus I can't see it from the inside.

The great part about a Jeep is that we all get to enjoy it in our own way. I wish it looked different open, but I still think this soft top is AWESOME!

That being said - I just ordered a set of the quick release thumb screws. I have a rear window bag on the way. I am interested if anyone comes up with a good way to protect the full soft top in the bed.

Sharing is caring folks! :LOL::CWL::LOL::CWL::LOL:

Wow so much hate for the man bun and soft top. I love the convenience of two latches and push it back. When you live in a rainy area it's great! As for the man bun, I did a top knot when my hair got long enough and carrying my parang around I was told I look like a large cannibal from Borneo. I should also note the only people objecting to it were old people. This of course made me tie it up like that every time I knew I was going to interact with someone older. Hey if you are going to comment and you think anyone cares then you can't be surprised when people like me purposely annoy you haha.
Another old timer here that isn't bothered by your tie up. I'm three decades older and still pull back my hair in a pony tail, but only when I go out.
As for the man bun soft top, I'll be passing on that look.

Ditto! This is the first Jeep I have owned with a hard top. I don't like man buns or mullets...and I was raised in Alabama :) But the decision is easier in Utah since we get very little rain June-Aug.

I was really hoping that Bestop or another company would come out with a mullet-free soft top.

Mulletts... a period of time in which I wish I had never lived.......

I just want an easy to remove water proof twill top. It doesn't need to flip or anything bc it's going to be awful looking, no way around it.

If you don't like it, don't buy it! My wife has a hardtop Wrangler Rubicon and I have the folding soft top Mojave... I personally could careless if people can't get over seeing my soft top in the "man bun" position; especially given the amount of periodic rain we receive in Ohio.

Exactly this! Buy what you like, not what someone else wants to see. I didn't buy the Gladiator because I cared about what other people thought of it. I also didn't get the soft top because of how it looked to others. I got it because I wanted to use it.

I use the same theory for car audio. How often do you ride in back of your own car? Then why spend money on the rear speakers?

Totally! I buy what I can afford and what makes me happy! I'm a huge fan of simplicity/efficiency, and the soft-top fit the bill perfectly!

Not once have I looked at "the man bun" while I'm driving. As a matter of fact, I tried looking at it from the driver's seat and still can't see it. It doesn't bother me at all. It's so nice to just pop those latches. gently step on the pedal and have the top flip back for a quick open air drive.

I did this, by accident. I pulled the top down at lunch to keep the interior cooler, but never latched it. Came out after work jumped in it and took off. That top slammed back so hard I thought it flew off. I now make a concious effort to close 1 latch when I put it down for shade.
