I used to buy old Jeeps and fix them up as a hobby back in the ‘70s and ‘80s, then kids got in the way. I’ve had quite a few from basic M38A1 I drove in high school to CJ civilian models to M-715 trucks. Even had a nifty M151A2 (not really a Jeep, but close enough). I think my favorite, and the one that I’d really like to have back was my ‘67 Wagoneer (6cyl with “3 on the tree” manual) with the M-715 a close second.

What about you?

I had a 79 cj7 when I was too young and too broke to fix it up. Wish I had it today. Also had a 79 cherokee. Dont miss that as much.

My first Jeep. ‘93 Black and Tan (before it was a package) Wrangler. I have an 87 that I’m building, but still miss that Jeep.

I was in high school in the 90s so I am partial to the YJ. Certainly not the best jeep but it gave us the fuel injected 4.0.

I’ve had two. The ‘91 was my favorite because it had the CJ roll bar. My ‘92 went much farther, trying to recreate the period look of what you might see in the mid 1990’s. I sent it down the road about 2 years ago @ 110k original miles.

Not a Jeep, but close... I hope to someday inherit and fully-restore my dad's 1961 International Scout 80 half-cab, all original with the slant-4 engine and twin-stick T-case 3-speed in the floor. It's in horrific shape (far from drivable). I used to drive it when I was a kid. It's what I learned how to drive a car and use a foot-clutch with...I'd been driving motorcycles since I was 5, so I was familiar with manual transmissions.

Here's it's current state of decomposition...

Spent a good bit of time in CJ's growing up the CJ5 would probably be my favorite.

This is my 4th Jeep
1996 XJ Country
2004 WJ Laredo 4.7l V8
2008 JKU Rubicon 6 speed
2020 JT Overland

Before the Gladiator, my ‘04 WJ was my favorite. I loved that Jeep. It was quick and comfortable and drove well. It got really good mpg too and it was super reliable. Best mpg of Jeep I’ve owned. The hwy mpg was a lot better than my Gladiator. The only one I hated was my 96 XJ. Most over rated vehicle ever. So uncomfortable, super cramped and rough ride with the up country suspension. I had it since basically new. It had so many problems, including the “bulletproof” 4.0l having catastrophic failure and being replaced under warranty. The second one lasted a while but it had the typical leaks and piston slap. My JKU was the best/worst Jeep. Other than it being dog slow, I did like it, but it was a lemon buy back, but I made $3900 on it over what I had originally paid for it after 19k miles.

I’m going to get hate over my XJ comment. I know that my 1995 Moss Green Country XJ with the Up Country suspension is like the holy grail for XJ dweebs. I just hated it. I drove it for 8 long years and countless issues and repairs.

Not old, but I liked my 2017 Recon. Just had to trade for the JT, needed the new adventure.

My favorite is the GPW. I hope to get one someday.
The Gladiator is my 3rd Jeep. I made the mistake of not getting a Rubicon twice.
Of the Jeeps I have owned, my favorite is/was my 04 TJ.
I'm going to miss that little mule on the trails.
