My dealer was able to put a note in when they took my order. So I have the Max Tow package on a Sport S with Painted fenders. I told her I wouldn't buy it any other way and they were able to get it done.

To bad I couldn’t get the max tow with a stronger 6speed

The 8-speed Auto tranny is better for towing anyway, more torque.
cheers

true but less fun. Stop polluting my heart with facts
I really wish there was some love for improving the stick in these. I'm going to drive a Mojave next week and feel like half the fun of the "sporty gladiator" would be the stick. There is so much they've improved with the 8 speed auto, it's part of why i'd move away from my current JKU.

I just showed my dealer this and he laughed at the "they put a note in". There is no spot in the system to make notes on special requests. You enter in what you want and that's it, the backend system handles all of it. No one is looking at each other and saying oh they selected this but noted they actually wanted this. Not how it works. This is a case of the dealer acting like they are doing you a favor.

I don't know if there was a change to the 2021 build list but I know when I built my 2020 Sport S Max tow (Auto) the dealer had a hard time putting in the painted fenders. They are absolutely able to get the painted fenders, but you have to add the items in a specific order. IF the system is not letting the dealer add it then ask them to change the order in in which they are selecting stuff.

For instance if they add the max tow, then the preferred package, and then try to add the fenders and it doesn't work; have them start over and add the painted fenders first then add the others. I commented on this on another thread, it seems there are some pretty unknowledgeable dealers out there that don't know how the system works. Mine was one of those but I had him redo it several times until he got it on there. It can be done, don't let the dealer swear up and down to you that it's not possible. They are wrong.

I'm curious if you get a Sport S with max tow AND painted flares, what width are the flares? Are they like the painted flares for the Rubicon or are they narrower like what now comes standard with the 2021 Sport S?

The rubicon flares are high clearance... these are not. They’re more like the Overland flares.
