The Rebel Jeeps are all (I think all) upgraded to DANA 60's... one tons.
You may be right, I'd have to go back and look...they are running at least 3 JT's now, but didn't think they did anything but lifts...like you I am not sure though...almost positive though that TrailRecon hasn't upgraded his axles or bearings

If I calculate my needs correctly, I come up with:
Trailer tongue weight - 400lbs
(2) adults - 300
(2) dogs - 140
front steel bumper - 60
Winch & Plate - 100
Rebel half-rack - 150
(2) 2-gallon rotopax diesel - 30
(2) 2-gallon rotopax water - 24
37" spare w/ wheel - 15 above stock
Removal of rear bench - (93)
Goose gear seat delete - 39
ARB compressor - 10
Total = 1,175lbs
You mention 37" spare with wheel but don't forget the other 4.

[edit - I realize now the OP was talking about sprung weight so the wheels on the ground aren't relevant to load carrying capacity (hauling). Though in terms of pulling power (towing) they are]

Whilst wheels and tires are part of your GVWR, they are not part of your cargo weight.
cheers

Thats the purpose of my thread? This would be towing my camper more than anything.

My JCR full rack only weighs 87 lbs...so that saves you 70ish lbs in payload right away. I love the ecodiesel, had a 2015 Ram 1500 and put 140,000 on the ecodiesel, but he diesel in the JT will only have 5,000 lb tow rating based on cooling. They can't fit a big enough radiator in the JT as they could in the RAM, but it is an awesome engine...however, 37's on the 4.10 rear won't tow and perform the way you want based on the tables. Helper springs or lift kit can help with sag, but doesn't help with wheel bearings which are also rated to your max payload, so exceeding max payload can result in early wear/premature failure of bearings. That seems like are REALLY heavy off road trailer!? My 35's and aftermarket wheels weigh less than the stock Rubi wheels with 33" tires btw. But, I would guess there are A LOT of people overloading their vehicles every day. Look at the Rebel Offroad builds or TrailRecon. Those Jeeps are PACKED and I don't remember ever seeing them talk about upgraded components meant to accommodate payload. I am certainly not an engineer and am only sharing from my own experience and reading on the forums. Oh and for the money, skip the MOPAR lift and go aftermarket...Metalcloak is an incredible company and you can get their Game Changer lift for the same as the MOPAR lift.
Camper is 3395lbs loaded with all gear, 40gallons of water, 5gal of diesel, food, fullsize spare, has a galvanized frame, aluminum everything else besides the tire carrier, canvas rtt w/ annex, additional tent addon, canvas awning, air suspension, dual lithium batteries, onboard BMS, inverter, 60L fridge, propane grill, diesel hot water/tent heater system and clothes for 2 people.

Well, except for the spare.

OP, if you really care about hauling and towing, you’re not going to beat the F250/F350....but it won’t be as fun as the Gladiator.

Probably true but whats funny is that I have a LJ wrangler sitting in my garage with the trail doors and safari top on and yet Im always driving my f150 (Only put 2k miles on my LJ since buying the f150 April 2018) because of the comfort, added luxury features and cab space lol.

I traded my Tundra yesterday. I’ve already had the top off and taken her to the beach. It’s written all over this forum, I struggled with my decision for a long time, but there are pros and cons to each vehicle. I wanted a jeep my whole life but never could get over the hump because of towing and the lack of a truck bed. The Gladiator can do both now and a whole lot more but there will be challenges with 16’ lumber, or interior volume etc etc but I never got the feeling I had today with the roof off from my Tundra. The dog was thrilled, wife and daughter smiling. I’m going to give it a go for a few years and if I like it I’ll keep it and if the shine wears off or I want my space back I’ll trade for a new Tundra when it’s released in a couple of years. If they hold their value it’s fairly low risk. I’ll have to figure out how to take recyclables to the transfer station a new way and the few times I’ll need long lumber I’ll just have it delivered or buy an extender for my tow hitch. I’m thinking I’ll get a hard tonneau cover because I won’t be able to fit as much in the bed on road trips but there is a way around almost everything but if payload and towing don’t work they don’t work

Thanks for your feedback. Thats also a part Im struggling with. I have the dual panel sunroof on my truck and only find myself opening it when driving to work at 4am and my dang heavily modded wrangler sits in the garage feeling left out. My dog loves riding in my jeep but he also enjoys my truck with it sitting up so high and the spacious rear cab with the seat folded up.

Seeing both dogs in my truck this am side by side with their heads out the window really had me close to ruling out the gladiator because of rear seat area. I’d have to pull the seat completely just to get the same space as I have now in my truck with the seat folded up. And I say this as a big issue because the wife is talking about a baby so Id be forced to keep the 40 portion seat in place and in the down position.

PS: If you're trying to decide between a Gladiator and an F250/F350 you're asking the wrong questions.
