i'm glad you drove an electrical nightmare so you got to fall in love with the Gladiator. hopefully this TSB will make you love it that much more. i'm sure crossing my fingers.
Agreed... Also left a message with the dealer. They called me back and said bring it in next Wednesday and the service bulletin will be done.

Fingers crossed parts are in and they do the bulletin.

Maybe this has been addressed. I took mine in and they ordered the parts. I checked the parts number in the order and they ordered 68418449AE for the gear. The TSB called for part number 68507576AA. I looked that up on Mopar and it can’t be found. One interesting Thing however, the Mopar site says 68418449AE replaces 68418449AD. So did my dealer order the right one or the old aluminum one.

That is not the number for the new steering gear but the most recent revision of the aluminum steering gear.

I knew this went way too smooth. Also the dealer said the parts are in. This really leads me to believe it’s the old box. when I drop it off next week I’ll speak with the service manager.

Took mine in on 8/24 and I’m still waiting....
Talked to the service writer while talking to him about my wife's Grand Cherokee issues (both batteries bad, entire NAV system bad - they'll replace the whole radio when they can get one)
He said my truck is in the shop and they "got started" - took it apart, they are all ready for the bolts when those come in.
Good, at least it's not sitting outside somewhere not even touched.

I would hope those have been pulled and regardless of what's been ordered, the correct part comes in. That's how it used to work - when there was a TSB and there was a part to replace another, no matter what you ordered, you got the current part. Originals were pulled. Dealers were to send them back.
At least that's the old days. (it's reflected in the 6 parts books I have from the 60s and 70s - I'd hope they'd not go backwards these days! It was paper back then, sloooow to get word out.)

In any case, a customer could call, make SURE it's the new part - identified as being BLACK and cast steel and not aluminum if nothing else.

Great message.

You helped me by saying that, Canadian Customers must deal with FCA Jeep Canada Customer Cares. They were helpful for me.

What do customers in other countries do? I've see Australian customers posting that they have issues and fear the TSB does not include them.

Now there's a question - does this issue impact only LHD vehicles, or RHD as well? The Aussies drive on the wrong side of the road.

The TSB specifically says “North American” vehicles

edit: Please refer to Gatorized post #777 below. He's right. Thanks for correcting me.

Took mine in today for the repair at 1130. Still waiting.
Got it back at 4pm. I could tell in the parking lot the difference. Very tight, very responsive. Drove up to 60mph and was able to use 3 fingers and a thumb. No wandering, no pull. Took my hands off the wheel for 10 seconds and was fine. You basically just have to guide it down the road. I still have maybe 3/4 inch of dead space but that dead spot is very tight. 100% reccomend.

After all they're different companies in different nations.

And the policies and procedures may be different for each...

For instance, on the FCA Jeep Canada Customer Care phone message they say specifically that a diagnosis is required from a dealer.
