That is the last page of the pdf I linked to earlier. The marketing sheets show those numbers but these owners manuals getting shipped with them have a different GCWR. Hoping the owners manuals were just a typo because the pdf spec sheet on their press/marketing site has had multiple versions since they originally posted it a while back. The 12100 number for the JTRD makes more sense given the 6k rating for towing and the GVWR of 6350.
I must have missed your post on it then. But this helps a bunch. Thank you!

Wow 2Jeeps- you da man. I have been trying to get this info for a while . Confirming that the JTRD with a 6k tow Capacity. Not Ideal but it allows me to tow my 20 foot trailer legally! Thank you very much.
Yeah my issue isn't the 6k towing its the payload which is why I'm curious what everyone's payload comes out to after their build order options. My trailer's tongue weight is 400lbs and with payload under 1000lbs, that pretty much leaves room for wife & I (300lbs), 2 dogs (140lbs), steel bumper/winch and that's it. Nothing in the bed, nothing hanging above the bed, etc. which isn't going to cut it when we're talking about adding a kid in the mix.

this is based on the JTR diesel. Sport diesel would have more payload.

I'm basing my numbers off of JTR diesel w/ hardtop, leather, front steel bumper w/ winch. I would be removing the rear seats which gives me some weight savings but then would be adding some back in for the goose gear platform that'll be platform for my dogs and tool storage. My trailer is 3395lbs loaded and the 400lbs tongue weight.

Usually, the OEM has already included a certain amount of weight into the payload. For example, my Ram 1500 EcoDiesel already includes 300 lbs of cargo (weight of two passengers, or passenger and gear, etc). I would look at your owner's manual and verify.

I was able to look at my online 21 manual for that includes the diesel. Here are the specs I believe you are asking for for towing.

I just looked at my manual (what jwalt just posted) and the Jeep manual does not give an allowance for anything in the payload. You have to take your driver and all cargo out of the payload allowance. The curb weight does assume all fluid levels are full, so you do not have to allow for that.

Wow! That doesn't leave much payload left, especially if you have to add in a hitch system. Typically, the tongue weight is somewhere between 10-15% of your total trailer weight.

This great jwalt. Thank you. I guess we need to see when someone gets a fully loaded JTRD to see what the sticker shows for the Payload To get an idea? Right?

This 11,800 GCWR for JTR diesel is 300lbs less than their marketing material specs posted earlier in this thread. Im sure guys wanting to tow would be looking for the definitive answer before they buy.

It will tow my boat, haul my tools, has room for my dogs, and has 440 ft lbs of torque not to mention it is a hell of an off-roader. I’ll be happy with it. I’ve had plenty of full size pickups and this fits my daily needs much better than those.

It’ll haul my 3400lb trailer (400lb tongue weight) and allow me, wife, 2 dogs, steel front bumper and winch but thats it. No room left in payload for anything in the bed. So Im having a hard time justifying that. Shall I tell the wife that a baby and its diaper bag needs to stay home because we dont have payload for him/her. Dogs have been our kids and go on all our adventures.

This has been an enjoyable thread for me, but it is about to come to an end, as our Jeeps are arriving. I would encourage somebody who has one to start a new thread for this group. Something like “Experiences with the EcoDiesel” so that we can share notes on the diesel specific issues we are noting, good and bad, as we start driving them.General things that don’t necessarily warrant a separate thread. Just a thought.

Finally moved from I to JB yesterday. How long did those of you with factory bedliners have to wait from JB to a K code?
I just saw your JT on the "completed in the last 24 hours" page. Cool.
