Duck mode. Stand back and look from a distance. Turns the Jeep into a duck.

When and in what situations would someone want to use this? Seems like during off road and obstacles, one would want to control their own speed and whatnot? Sorry, im a newb to the off road stuff.

Really? You haven't seen how many other Jeep people have asked about this very button - and other things about the JT?

It's what this forum (and others) are all about - answering questions.

It is a little odd to get used to it. Noisy and feels like you aren’t controlling the truck over obstacles. But it can be useful on a steep decline that is rocky and you want to make sure you maintain a very slow crawl. Best description is cruise control for rock crawling. I have tried it a few times and don’t really like it but I can see how it could be useful for a few situations.

Some of us in society actually read owner manuals, operating instructions and the like before we ever turn the key or press the "go" button. Always have the information before operation. We do not go forth blindly and find it incomprehensible that others do. I have yet to buy a Gladiator but I have read the on line manual 3 times and feel confident that I could get in and go without calling the salesman every other day to explain features. My dad spent 57 years selling Fords. His take was less than 5% of owners read the book. Yeah, some comments are a bit strong but it is the 'net and snowflake season for society.

And some comments are useless to the conversation and only serve to make the judger feel better somehow. PLENTY of times I have a thought and keep it to myself. Too bad that's so difficult for some . . .

But these days some things aren't explained well - or even correctly- in the books. Case-in-point, Mopar's excuse for installation instructions with some products.
Sometimes it's better to get REAL WORLD info from people who know more than the books tell. I've been through the owner manual myself - print and PDF. There's still things that get missed, and still times the book leaves things out. They can't explain in detail.
Having worked in tech support, IT, etc. for years, it's a real issue. "Click this to do xxxxx" - ok, so what's that mean? And if it doesn't actually DO what the book says it's supposed to do?
There are subject matter experts for that - it's why forums exist these days. Books can't explain everything, just introduce things.

Aren't we all here with a common passion for Jeeps? Can't we just help each other without being nasty or judgmental? One of my favorite parts of having a Jeep is the community culture. Sometimes questions asked could be answered with a quick search or reading the manual but many of us are happy to provide our experience or answers without the attitude. We have enough nastiness we all deal with in the world lets be friendly to our fellow jeepers.

Seems like I am living a similar work path as you. I've always been a Auto technician (now part time at a high performance turbo shop) but currently work full time in IT for the federal government.

I came to this forum to learn more about my truck, things I might have missed in the owners manual, and also to provide help when I can.

I honestly never even tried that crawl control button until recently (didn't know it existed lol) Had the truck since May.
