Mine is completely gone. I removed the steering fluid cap and slowly drove around my neighborhood for a few minutes. Then I added more fluid almost to the hot line.

Why did you remove the cap?

Why did you remove the cap?

It was just to help vent any air that might be in the line. I put the cap back on after topping off.

Most power steering reservoir caps are vented. You should not need to remove it.
