Jeep Gladiator Roof leak in back AC897FE9-B8DE-44C4-9EC0-F38EDC52412F
Just scheduled my first appointment with dealer for 12/7. I’ll update progress. Who is paying to have window re-tinted if they have to replace it?

That’s a good question you should probably ask. I honestly don’t know how that works with a warranty repair on glass, as we didn’t do a lot of those when I was at a dealership. I would count on a rear window replacement as they are pretty much guaranteed to break when the remove them.

They totally screwed up the paint repairing my top. Then they would no longer respond to my calls. Really deserves a lawsuit against Rockie Williams Jeep in Mt. Juliet, TN. They’v also declined to respond about the TSB for the steering.
Ughhhhh,,,,that’s BS.......in reality it’s just a terrible design from Jeep..,.theirs no easy way to get the window out...regardless, your dealer should make It right if they damaged something

The window is tinted from factory.

Right. Then tinted again after I bought it.

New here and ... "me too". Rear window leaking above left passenger, took to dealer and they had to get approval from FCA then order a replacement rear glass. Sent it to "the best auto glass shop in town" and it came back installed crooked:

Jeep Gladiator Roof leak in back Left2

Called it to the attention of the service manager and he agreed it wasn't right, so they took it back to glass shop and they straightened it out somehow.

Three days later and was leaking again, this time in the center above the slider, and the defogger also isn't working. Dealer's taking it back to "the best auto glass shop in town" to get them to take another look at it. Comment about the defogger was "hard to check if the weather's not right" so I suggested maybe putting a current tester on the battery to see if the current draw changed when it was on vs off.

At least they've been providing a loaner, so far I have almost as many miles on it as my JT over the past couple of weeks. :crying:

Clearly they don’t know how to test a defroster ??‍♂ All you have to do is use a multimeter and place the leads at opposite ends of the grid lines. If you read voltage it’s working, no voltage and it’s not. This will work no matter if it’s 100 or 0 outside. This is making me look even less forward to getting mine swapped, especially since the dealership already broke one of the trim panels above the back window trying to diagnose it ??‍♂??‍♂

Finally had a heavy rain and happened to check out my rear window. My Gladiator heads to the shop on Wednesday...

And so it continues. Returned this time and looks a lot like they used black RTV along the top edge of the rear window channel. Didn't put much effort in cleaning the excess off the outside of the glass either. Remains to be seen if the leak is repaired, or if the defogger works. Not thrilled, but at least I have my truck back for now.

Does anyone have installation instructions for one of these windows, from the service manual, etc., that they could share?

Did they replace the window or just seal it with a blob of RTV? If they used an acid curing silicone it'll eat the paint...

It looks like just a blob of RTV. No paint involved, just concerned that the RTV won't have enough "give" when removing the top, causing the glass to break. I'd really like to see instructions from FCA on how it's "supposed to be" done so I can get back with the dealer.

Have to go back again anyway, rear window defogger/defroster not working since replacement. :(

They half-assed this. That’s not the way it should be repaired

Just dropped mine off for review and repair. While chatting with the service rep he told me it was a common issue with these trucks. I asked him if it was so common why isn’t there a TSB or recall... no answer provided beyond a shrug.

Question. For those of you who've had your hard-top replaced to resolve the leak issue is your top black or body-color? Dealer is telling me body-color replacements cannot be factory ordered. They must order unpainted and paint locally.

Is that an option? My dealer is just replacing the glass once it’s approved by FCA.
