I finally got the call that my parts came in and I have an appointment scheduled for Wednesday morning. I’m hoping to be able to provide a review by Wednesday evening. My service contact said that the work actually takes about double the time Jeep estimates, but still within one day. I’m not paying so I don’t really care.
Dropped off this AM at 0930 and was told to expect completion by 3pm.

My

My new steering gearbox took 2 days to install. Mostly because of the three new computer flashes
May I ask, what were the three computer flashes that you had performed on your vehicle ?
One would have been the steering upgrade, but the other two ?

I started the process on September 30th. Normal stuff - postponed, cancelled etc. "BS". I called today to check the status and surprisingly while I was on hold the parts guy found the parts... Well, I am scheduled for Monday for them to install. WE WILL SEE!

Dealership contacted me earlier today and scheduled my repair for this coming Monday! The customer rep. stated they had the part and bolts... Fingers crossed that the repair goes smoothly.

I first took mine in September 2nd and the dealer agreed to order the parts. The bolts came in after a few days; however, the gear box was delayed and finally came in last Friday. I had an appointment today and am waiting to get the JT back. I did ask them to look at a couple other things too (flimsy front fender liners, ESS not working, and due for an oil change). Hope to get it back tomorrow. Will let you all know how it goes!

Hi Community members ,

Hope everyone is well in these surrealist COVID times . Here in Canada it is on the rise and hospitals are reaching max capacity , it will be a long winter .

I want to share a very disappointing and upsetting Jeep experience regarding this with my Jeep Gladiator Rubicon.

In September I performed a dealer visit regarding this bulletin , lead technician confirmed the wandering on the road and complaint . I was happy I didn't need to fight with dealer , like some members here . Parts were ordered during first week of September .

Aftr following up with dealer on numerous time , I was advised parts would be in Mid November , when I didn't get a call , I waited till last week as here it was crazy winter tire season in dealers , By law you need to have winter tires on your vehicle by 1st of December in this Province . I followed up with dealer and they said they still didn't receive anything .

I opened a case with Jeep Customer care in Canada , the agent got back to me and after checking my story , confirmed that the order was cancelled the 11th of November by Jeep and I would need to place a new order on December 20th ...I cannot understand how or why we have to proceed like this and I am extremely disappointed and pissed . This was my 5th Jeep vehicle purchased , it wasn't cheap either ($65 000 Canadian) . After a year of ownership , my only issue is that its not fun to drive on the highway as it needs constant corrections and very good concentration if its windy . Now in winter condition it makes it dangerous .

Why create a bulletin , if dealers orders get cancelled and we need to re-order using the same bulletin and parts number ? Who's to say the next order won't get cancelled also ?

IN light of COVID I understand that some suppliers are affected , but reading here the short wait times in U.S and big completion rate , it is extremely disappointing and makes me wonder and regret purchasing this vehicle up to a point .

A disappointed Jeeper from up North .
Giving an update to this ridiculous story . Jeep cares contactedf me and literally said my dealer had to order the parts on December 20th ( A sunday ) and provide them with order number and they would help mak,ing sure it makes it to my dealer ... I called my dealer who confirmed that Jeep Care contacted them and that this was the resolution , they were as incredulous as me .

This is the best part . The very next day m,y advisor calls me and said " you won't believe this , the parts came in ...this makes no sense " The advisor obviously admitted that this is a fluke as there is no way my call to Jeep cares the previous day could have changed anything so quickly and in light they told me follow up with dealer to place order and provide them with order number (why not do it on their side to help the customer ????)

My Jeep has been in today to perform the TSB and will be ready, hopefully tomorrow , I cross my fingers , and mentioned to the lead tech working on it that the hardest part of the TSB is the bleeding part . Their lead tech is a solid guy who's been with them 30 years .

Will update once I recuperate it , hopefully tomorrow .

This story goes to prove that FCA's departments don't communicate . The part manager of that dealer even though was following the part order said it got cancelled on FCA side twice , and then he was told he had to order on December 20th by Jeep cares , exactly what Jeep care told me as well .... Crazy

You guys will like this. Tried to get in early on the TSB. Dropped the Jeep off at the dealer on 9/8. 3 days for parts and then back to me. Well, on 9/16 I was notified by the police that my Jeep was stolen off the dealer's lot. Using the UConnect app, I located it and steered the police towards it for the recovery. No major damage except that the tonneau and tailgate were missing. It had also been completely debadged. Prepping it to paint, I suspect. Next came 3 months of police reports, DNA swabs, dealer's insurance, and waiting for parts. Finally got it back today.

Really like the new steering box with the limited time I've had with it. Couple of items the shop will have to follow up on. Should be obvious but if you ever need to have your Gladiator re-keyed, make sure they get the 4-6 locks inside the cab!

Well, that settles it, you have the most insane TSB story.

See it's all about perspective... at least I didn't have my Jeep stolen, haha.

Side story... years ago I had a built 600rwhp supercharged Mustang... it was at a performance shop getting some motor work done. They got broken into and my car was one of the ones that had a bunch of parts stolen. I remember what a sick feeling it was to get that call.

Good news... my dealer called me back today and the bolts came in. Only took 2 days, so that's great. I'm scheduled for next Wednesday.

As I was ending the conversation with the lady at the dealership, she apologized for the delays and thanked me for being so easy-going about it all. She said the guy she had to call before me had cussed her out he was so mad, and he hadn't been waiting on parts nearly as long as me.

I get being frustrated, but there's no reason to cuss out the poor lady trying to schedule your appointment. What's wrong with people?!

Apparently, my gladiator is done but they are still chasing a vibration/rattle that occurs when I crank up my alpine system that I had them take a look at.
