So my JT purchase anniversary is this Sunday.......for the last month I'm getting a Sirius flyer in the mail every single day, and about 2 emails a day telling me my promotional subscription are ending. I am curious, for those who are already past 1 year, did you continue your GUARDIAN subscription, or just you RADIO subscription. I love XM Radio, and I will re-up for that, but I just don't know if I use any GUARDIAN features.......at least knowingly. What did you guys & gals do, and why?

My guardian features rarely work in general. Don't see value in the system for as much as they want for it.

Even with the radio I have a few weeks left and am figuring out if I want it. They are coming in agressive due to covid at $100 for the year.

Firstly, the "promotional" subscription NEVER ends no matter the marketing mumbo jumbo ... Satellite radio have been the biggest subscription whores since they went live ... Call any time and argue a little ... Their pants will be down around their ankles in about 5 mins ...

Satellite radio generally sucks ... You pay for it and it still has commercials .. Get an online service and be happy ...

Plus they are way to proud of their stuff ... For the amount they charge for the mediocre "guardian" service I could hire a butler to sit in my car and at least I would also end up with someone to talk to ...

I may keep the radio as well (just for one or 2) of the "hundreds of stations" if I can pay about $5 per month ... Any more than that and it is no longer worth it to me ...

I use the remote start a lot and renewed to have that available. That service is renewed through the Mopar site and is not discounted. That and the radio service both work well for me. I got the radio service with listening from portable devices for around $70 for a year.

Is that $70 out the door or $70 plus the near $40 of fees they try to add?

guardian is kinda cool, i stopped using it after the first month though. i feel like it took way too long to do anything. it took the convenience out of it. the Send and Go feature worked but wasn't useful enough for me to remember it. i generally have too quick of access to my car keys that opening the app and waiting for it to go through takes way longer than getting up. half the time the connection would fail anyways.

xm radio is something i have subscribed to over the last 5+ years. i don't listen to many stations but did, nor did i really use the service outside of the vehicle. i have spotify and everything but xm is just easy since you dont even have to set anything after you start the engine. i was thinking about subscribing again since my trail expired last month but i might just go without for a while. i can get it at $60/year.

For me, guardian and xm radio are nice to have but i think i can spend my money on things i would use more or provide me more value. guardian takes too long. for $20 a month i would rather have the wifi hotspot, which would be used rarely and not worth it at the moment.

I would have to look it up for the exact total, but that did include the extra fees.
Sounds like they are really wanting to negotiate now that nobody is driving. They offered me 60 to turn it back on in my van for the year. in the past I couldn't get them lower than 120 for a year.

I agree it is so easy to use thats why I am still considering it. With Android Auto I want to not resubscribe, but I just don't find myself plugging in my phone almost all of the time.

I never used Guardian. I never saw any value in anything it "offered."

Now that it's expired they continue to beg me to come back. I'm going to renew it just as soon as their price drops to its perceived value which is zero.

(I can start my Gladiator remotely almost instantaneously with my huge, oversized, massive, too-big-to-carry, factory remote with the always opening switchblade key that opens all by itself).

One thing guardian does give you that is handy, is that you get a weather map on your screen. I know we can all get that via phone, but when was in the mountains in TN in the summer, this came in handy when there was no cell service.

I dont drive my JT much at at all (under 5k in 11 months of ownership), but I have found the service valuable...but yeah its crazy expensive for what it is.

I believe the weather map is actually part of the SiriusXM Travel Link services which is separate from Guardian. I'll let my trial Guardian subscription expire later this year but my Travel Link trial is 5 years so I'll keep it until then.

My 2021 only had a six-month trial. And only the 8.4” uConnect has the Guardian/Travel Link services.
Around Christmas they were pushing real hard for me to get an annual renewal of the radio service for $5/month (prepaid) plus the licensing fee of about $14.
I can’t use a streaming service, as a lot of the places I drive don’t have cellular coverage, whereas satellite radio is available over most of the US & Canada. I haven’t tried it in Mexico.
Anyway, I re-upped for the year, but that was right at the upper limit of its value to me.

I'm having issues with the vehicle reports and location features. They don't show up in the app, only the remote functions show up and work. Working with them to resolve.
