Thank you. First Jeep build. I got my Rubicon take offs for $200.
33s are Falken Wildpeak M/T 295/70/R17
Black Rhino rims with -18 offset.

Wow, those are only 33s?! Your build looks fantastic.

just to add here - for those with the falken stock MT’s — bumping to a 37” KO2 ( which is not a true 37 but closer to a 36 ) is only a few pounds more than stock. As far as rotational mass. Also C rated 37” KO2 comes out around time of new raptor release

I hope other makers follow suit with a c load range....

Same. Even a D would be better. When I got bigger tires I wanted 35x11.50 but I was told by a tire shop and dealer that size didn't exist. Now I see the Toyo AT3 is available in this size and it's only 63lbs. My Falkens are 76lbs.

Hmm, existing KO2 is a D in a 37. But yeah, on a 35 it's an E -- unless you get 315's, which are C rated.

Okay everyone, I've scanned a lot trying to gather information on this topic from various places on the forum. I want to just hear from people with experience running 37s with 3.73 gearing on their JT, including their perception of their performance, how long they've been running that setup, and if they made any other mods. Thanks!
Well I just bought my 2020 Gladiator Sport (3.73 Ratio) about 4 weeks ago, and it came with Falken 37" Tires and a lift kit. At the recommendation of my local Jeep Dealership, I added a stabilizer kit to keep the front end from shaking when i hit potholes and other bumps.

I'm in Oklahoma and we got hit with the great snowstorm. When I was out driving today, my tires were having trouble in 10-12" of snow, which puzzled me. I saw another Gladiator at the local Gas Station and drove over and discussed with him. He had a Rubicon, which has a higher gear ratio; no issues. He said having the 37's with the 3.73 ratio was the issue. He recommended upgrading the gear ratios or going down in tire size. I really like the look with the 37's, so upgrade is my next option.

Can everyone offer some guidance on what I could do to increase it's performance in snow. Besides snow, it may be used off-road some for Deer/Coyote Hunting. Would like to stay under $5K for upgrades, if possible.

Thanks in advance,
Kent

I’m on 35’s with 3.73’s. Now way would I do 37’s. The power is down and even calibrated 8th gear is rarely seen. I’m going 37’s down the road but I’ll regear before then.

So what would you regear yours to be?

Providing that is the option I go with; like to know your recommendation

Can you expand on this? Guys with 37's and 3.73 are few and far between, and I'm interested to hear more about what difficulties you had.

OK. Keep in mind that I am new to understanding gear ratios on Jeeps and am just trying to understand why my 37" tires on the Gladiator are having trouble driving through 10"-12" inches of snow, when my 2011 Jeep Unlimited with 18" tires has no issues.

When I backing out of my driveway today, it was rough going thru the snow and at times, if I stopped, the tires wouldn't even rotate in 10" of snow.

Once I cleared off some of my driveway to where I started on pavement and was able to get some momentum going, i was able to drive thru it.

I'm not sure what I need to upgrade so this isn't an issue next year, but am open to suggestions.

Sorry for the novel.

I bought an Overland on April 10 and installed a 3.5” lift and 37” tires 1400 miles later. I finally regeared to 4.88 yesterday at 20,000 miles, and I’m kicking myself for not doing it months ago. It doesn’t feel like the same Jeep anymore. The 3.73 gears were barely drivable, but the Jeep couldn’t get out of its own way.

Nice - Is the Sport's 3.6L V6 Engine enough to power the 37's or is that a different topic all-together? What does regearing from a 3.73 to a 4.99 do to help?

I think for those new to Jeeps and reading this thread, like me, would like to know and understand; if possible.

Thanks for clarifying. I didn't mean to infer you were wrong or not understanding, I just wondered what you had experienced. I think you'll probably get a near unanimous opinion that you need to regear for the 37's. Until then, enjoy your truck. It looks great!
