Just an update, I went with 4.88 and I am honestly surprised that it does not feel that much more aggressive (basically feels like I have the stock tires back), I'm also surprised that the gas mileage is so much better (so far averaging 19.7 v. 16.7 with stock gears, and yes I adjusted speedo to my tires)

grant it I have not taken it on the highway (mostly 40-65mph driving so far and babying it)

I am very happy I did not go with 4.56 as this feels perfect even with the 35s that I have
Were you starting from 4.10 or 3.73?

4.10 on my Max tow seems to be perfect with BFG KO2S in size 315 70 17. So good I'll be bumping up to 37 12.5 17 in the same brand when these wear out. 18.5-19 mpgs average and right at 20 on some long trips. If I can stay above 17 mpgs on 37s I'll be happy.

I'm running 37's on 410's and I am seeing 17.1 MPG.

Auto - 4.88.. These would work for 37s eventually also. I will be regearing mine soon and currently running 35s. Based on my calculation, with 4.88 gears, 8th gear in auto is going to be equivalent to 7th gear with 4.1. Which translates to roughly 3000 RPM at 80 mph.

Yep I'm at 17.6 right now mix of HWY and city. Had it almost to 18 about 3 weeks ago on a 2hr trip. I'm guessing since gas stations are starting to get summer gas again mine has steadily been climbing.

3.73 so a big jump to 4.88

average has now leveled off in the 18.3-18.4mpg range too

Liquor Attorney. So not all bad...
MOPAR (ahem, Fiat) decided that ATs on 35s should get 4.56s and 6MTs should have 4.88s. And I totally agree with that. My 6MT with 35s could use the help of the 4.88s but an auto driver should be fine on 4.56s. I suppose if you are thinking about 37s or higher then you many need shorter gears..

I have 21 rubicon with 4.10 and 35's, towing is horrible. I got like 10mpg on a 1300 mile trip hauling a Uhaul trailer. This is my daily driver and i get 14-15 at best mpg. I think i am going to go with 4.88. I need to tow. Does fine with my 700 lb pop up but we want to upgrade to something a little more cush.

There's a 4.63 option that splits the difference with Nitro gears. It's what I have, and it's great. Basically gives me stock performance with 35's, and a whole bunch of added weight (steel bumpers, winch, full belly skid, etc).

4.88.

The 3.6 in a JT needs revs, and 8th gear is more than tall enough. It won't be excessive rpms.

Even moreso if you're considering 37s later.
