You’ll have to complain to get the TSB done. They won’t come out and tell you there’s a TSB. Just say your steering feels sloppy and it pulls, they’ll take it for a test drive and if it does what you say, they should order the parts.
I mentioned that to them 3 times (making oil change appointment, confirming appointment, dropping truck off) . But yet when I picked the truck up - nothing on the paperwork.
I guess I'll have to call and complain. The sad part is the dealer is some distance away. and I wanted to get on the waiting list with just the one appointment.

Man, sometimes they have a one track mind. Make an appt just for them to look at the steering. Is it pulling or does it feel loose?

The thing just won't track straight without constant corrections at highway speed. And the same road on different days doesn't always behave the same

The thing that ticks me off to no end is I mentioned it three times!!!!
I should not have to spend two hours driving there and back again (plus whatever time in their waiting area) because they didn't record my concerns.

I get it, but yeah they won’t look at anything else but what the appt is for. Sucks, but that’s how a lot of these dealers do work. If it’s not on the work order, no one looks at it. Schedule an appt for the steering concerns, and print out the TSB and bring it with you.

So I called the dealer.
They said it was inspected but not on the paperwork. Whether they really inspected or not, I am now on the waiting list. I am Ok with that. Mine is tolerable but tiring to drive. I am happy.

Good to hear. Sometimes you just gotta be pushy to get things done. Mine took 2 weeks to come in.

you need to complain, tell them there is a TSB, provide them a print out with highlights. That worked really well for me.

Mine goes in tomorrow. Im Debating whether or not to remove the sector shaft brace.
I get where your coming from. I guess you could always remind them that FCA wasn’t dealing with the issue so you felt that for your safety you had to do what was available to you at the time.

Just got my truck back, no issues with the brace on there, did an alignment too. They Left the brace on as well. Truck drives straight, no more fighting the pull.

Nice. Nothing negative in the steering now?

Agree with on this. It definitely tracks better, but the old one seemed to have a very consistent resistance when cycling through a full turn from zero to lock, whereas this one seems to be more inconsistent. It’s tighter at first and then gets easier. Perhaps I’ve just been compensating too long and need my muscle memory to forget the old one.
I was going to post this but you typed the words for me. This is exactly what I've experienced.
Doubt that it matters. It is just a reservoir to hold the fluid...
Leaving the cap off could get messy.
H.O.L.Y. COW, For some reason my brain always goes to the least likely, or more complicated diagnosis for issues that I have with vehicles. Its a trait i'm trying to shake.

Rather than thinking, hey maybe my power steering fluid is low, i was thinking, this new gearbox they installed fixes some of my issues, but sucks and acts weirdly in other ways.

Long story short, I steered lock to lock 6 times slowly with cap closed, then let everything cool down for a few hours and to my surprise I bet i had to put in 4-6 ounces of power steering fluid. I guess the moral of the story is that not every mechanic is great at their job.

feels factory fresh now.

Moral of my long story, everybody that has the TSB fix done, first thing you do, turn lock to lock several times to work out air, let cool, top off power steering, then be amazed at how awesome the TSB fix really is, all the time. :captain:

I made my appointment for next week Friday to get the TSB taken care of with only 4,200mi on my Gladiator that i picked up last June :). The steering is very sloppy - much worse than my old JK with a 3" lift and 34" Tires. Hopefully, it will be taken care of quickly.
