I Iove it and use it all the time. I am returning from a week long trip to Moab with a travel trailer (currently in Caldwell, ID.) Works great for drafting vehicles ahead and saving gas. While towing, I don't want to go 80 mph because of gas mileage, so I find a semi going 70 mph and hang behind them. I wouldn't get a new vehicle without it.

One thing to remember is that you can override it when needed just like regular CC. If a vehicle in front of me is slowing down to exit, as soon as they are out of the way, I press on the gas just as you would without CC.

Don't like it, don't use it, big visual obstruction, wish it wasn't there and waste of money.

Initially I thought it was kind of cool.

Now I kind of think it sucks.

Oh well.

The computer always lets you take over, but also provides a reaction speed no human can match. So basically you're getting two drivers, and the human can always over-ride. It's silly to be afraid of the computer, it's not self driving and not able to do more than the human allows.
I understand. I am not afraid of it. I just don't like it. I am old school at times. Just a preference.

I absolutely hate adaptive cruise control; it turns drivers into mindless drones.

Nothing more irritating than a vehicle on adaptive cruise control sitting mindlessly on the passing lane blocking everyone else.

Driving requires a minimum degree of mental engagement. If you don’t want to drive, do everyone else a favor and stay in the couch!
You’re complaining about people going to slow in the fast last and blaming it on ACC..? This has been an issue since the beginning of lanes, not fault if ACC.

I have it on my Gladiator Rubicon and find it to work as flawlessly as the same feature on my 2020 Model Y Tesla. I absolutely would recommend anyone buying a new Gladiator to get it.

Yes, that two inches above the rear view mirror is a "big visual obstruction". Just curious, how often do you look above the rear view mirror to drive?

Why? The ACC/AEB box is attached to the roll bar, not the windshield. Other cars have it on the windshield. But where do you think the box stays if you fold down the Jeep windshield?
Yes but you need a completely different windshield, one that's designed for ACC. That's what I was told. Something to do with the special area in front of the camera sensor at your mirror. I was quoted $1100 for replacement windshield if you had ACC, and $245 if you did not. You can call you local glass company and ask that question to them.

Who has the Adaptive Cruise Control? How do you like it?
With the JT being my Daily Driver, I keep going back and forth on if I want to try and locate one with Adaptive Cruise Control.
We have ACC on out Nissan Murano and find it useful on the highways with some traffic.

Edit: How does it compare to other manufactures?
I have ADC and I really like it.

Wish I had it. Had it on other vehicles. Great on long trips.

I'm 6'6" so pretty much every time I drive.

Since I have a shell on the back rendering the rear view mirror useless, if I didn't have the adaptive cruise in the way I'd take the mirror off too.

I'm 5'11" but I sit up very straight, and the box is a mild annoyance sometimes. I wouldn't give up ACC to fix it, but sometimes it's just a little in the way.

I like the adaptive cruise control. I don't get to use it often, but it's pretty nice for long trips. I also like that you can increase or decrease your following distance by pushing a couple of buttons. What's also cool as the cruise control stays engaged, even when you shift (I have a manual transmission).

Ah, interesting, that makes sense. I've heard everything from $400 to $900. I have full glass without deductible so I don't really think about it, which is a few bucks a month.

I have driven my JT across the country and back from San Diego to Charleston and have Adaptive Cruise Control.

My impressions:

Ergonomics - I you are tall this thing will block most of your right-middle windshield view. The box it's in is huge and I'm not sure it needs to be looking at other vehicles with this feature. Shorter people may not have this problem as badly.

Function:
- On long road trips where you're traveling open interstate this feature is genius! It takes a bit of the fatigue out of you having to cancel/resume for traffic around you.
- If you are behind someone changing a lane and slowing down it will freak out and slow down with them instead of letting them go and focusing on the next vehicle in your lane ahead of you. Example: you are in the slow lane and someone uses the exit ramp...it's going to slow down with them even though they are on the exit ramp and you are in the slow lane. It doesn't do it gently - it's going to be a bit unsafe to me as the vehicle behind you isn't expecting this behavior from a human being. When it finally does focusing on the exit ramp vehicle it's going to accelerate aggressively to the next vehicle in front of you and then brake aggressively to keep the distance you set.
- Which brings me to the next point. It does not brake or accelerate gently. It's almost a binary system. Accelerate or brake behavior is fairly aggressive.
- I will not use it in stop and go traffic with all the people here in SD lane switching trying to gain half a second on their commute. It's how it behaves and the people around you tailgating that worries me.

If you do a lot of long distance open interstate type road trips it's worth it. Maybe you can find someone who has it or test drive it before you decide.
This review is spot on ?.
Hopefully Jeep will come up with a firmware update to smooth it up a little bit.

Big thumbs down on all ACC. On a not so busy highway it is horrible. Here is the scenario - CC set to 73 mph, driving in the Right lane and you are approaching another vehicle that is going say 65. ACC slows you down and you don’t realize it for a period of time a you are lulled into just staying where you are 200 feet back when you could have simply steered around the slower vehicle. Regular CC is the way to go.
That scenario is actually on you. The system is doing what it's supposed to do slow down to the slower moving vehicle. Your supposed to be paying attention to what's happening around you, and If you don't want to be stuck behind a slower car till it moves or speeds up change lanes yourself.
Regular cruise control would have your Jeep going 73mph all the way till you impact the 65mph vehicle in front of you.
So I'm not really seeing your point, ACC or Regular CC you could avoid what you described by changing lanes first.
