So I’ll be taking delivery of a Mojave in a few weeks and wanted to add a more functional step/slider similar to Ace Engineering, they are definitely the most obvious option but just wanted to see if others have found different options.

I really don’t want to remove the factory sliders and I don’t need a crazy low step just a little boost for the wife and kids.

Thanks!

I just bought a Mojave and have the same question. I found these online, but I am concerned about the install. Apparently breaking the body mount bolts off happens. Makes me a bit worried about installing them myself.

Those are my first choice but I wanted to see if anyone else maybe found something different. If I cant find anything I’m going to just bite the bullet and get a set of them $$

ACE Engineering... don’t play with anything else. Saved my girl twice this weekend. 👍

As a side note: I installed these on day 2 of owning my Mojave (I ordered them before mine was delivered). I have a theory that the body bolt issue is less prevalent the newer the truck is.

I just installed the Ace Engineering sliders on my truck tonight (hit 20k miles on it earlier today). No issues with the bolts. They will spin forever if you can't get some leverage on them to pull straight down once they are almost out. Fronts seemed to be a little worse, the middle and rear came right off. First side took me 45 min, the second side took 20- could've been faster but didn't have a second set of hands (or an impact).

ACE rails are awesome. Just wide enough for a step for the vertically-challenged wife, and still high enough for decent clearance. Had them on all 3 Jeeps I've owned. I found leverage is the trick to removing the body mount bolts without breaking them. When you first break them free, it's gonna sound like you snapped it for sure. Once you have them broken free and most of the way out, use a pry bar to push down on the washer as you continue to unbolt them. They should come out easily with this additional pressure. Doesn't take much pressure either.

There is a little trick to installing them not to break the bolts but on a new truck not likely you will break them.

I have a new set in Florida for sale in the Members Marketplace for less than half the price of a new set.

Be careful, Ace just got bought out and who knows what the quality of the new product will be.

So I ended up ordering from Ace during Memorial Day weekend, seems that I got them beat price possible since they sold out shortly after.

I waited almost 12 weeks for delivery, but they were worth it.

they are stout in construction and super solid. I’ve never owned Ace products but doesn’t seem that the buy out affected quality.

my only gripe was the crazy packaging, they were crates together with some 2x4 and then wrapped in foam sheets and then cardboard it up. The box was huge and HEAVY, and they still suffered some damage in transit (minor scratches from the wooden crate) I’m sure there’s a better way of shipping these out.

these are precision designed, install with NO drilling or removal of factory rock slider; adjustable, customizable and most important easily removable when you need to off road. The Perfect Dropstep.

In my opinion, it is best to use the factory mounting points to solidly mount proper sliders. I am happy with Rock Hard. I have angled up which gives a good step height if the Jeep isn't lifted a bunch.

I just got the steps from redsummitmachineworks.com they weld onto the factory rails so you lose 0 clearance. They are also coming up with some bolt on brackets to sturdy up the factory rails more.

Barricade makes a set of rock sliders that work with the factory Rubi rails.
