Im a fan of the stubby bumper mainly because I rock crawl. If you do not need the clearance or are more afraid of deer in the road full length may be right for you. After having a stubby on my last 2 JKs it looks weird to me with a full length.

The Arcus is in my "things to buy" list. Love the stubby look and the truck isn't a rock crawler so I don't need it real beefy.

Full width for the win! I like stubby for crawling and approach functionality. I prefer fender protection these days as my crawling days were left long ago. More of an overland build.

There are some bumpers out there I like because of how they sweep up to the fender, like they are taking the whole truck into account when designed. Clearance, and yet not stubby, sort of a hybrid,

I go full width. To me, the entire purpose of a bumper is to prevent damage to other parts of the vehicle when there's low speed contact with other objects.
If you're going to run a stubby, you might as well run nothing at all and save the weight. Just mount a plate and winch right to the frame.

This is one of the things I like about the stock metal bumper on the Rubicons. Taking the top off tonight, and I guess the bumper end caps too!Agreed. I love my rubicon in stubby mode.

I do like the way some of the aftermarket full widths do marry up to the fenders, that gap bugs me. For me, I am cheap so I modified the plastic for my Warn EVO 12S with Warn mounting plate. Added a winch cover for UV protection. Stands out a little less too.
Which ever bumper you choose, stay AWAY from the Angry Bird grille!!!!
