Hmmm. Not sure I would ever buy into this....been carrying fobs for years--on motorcycles, too--havent lost one yet.
Sounds like they just need to “loose” their keys twice and it’s break even. Then they’ll have 4 fobs.

I’d put those extra two in a safe in case you do actually lose one.

Not a dealer add-on I’d want, but when compared to nitrogen in the tires it certainly has some intrinsic value.

First time around said price was more than internet advertised price. Told them forget it.

Then gave me advertised internet price, but had to check on advertised incentives.

Asked why my FICO of 850 didn't qualify for 3.9 advertised rate. Said sometimes that happens. I bet they increased it to make up for the $900 extra they gave me for my truck. Told them I didn't care I was refinancing ASAP anyway. Asked to wait 6 months so they wouldn't get a chargeback. Yeah, I'll be all over that.

Incentives went up by $250, they gave me credit for it, but it was late and I didn't notice Out The Door price didn't reflect the $250 increase in incentives.

In today's market I was able to get $2k more than I paid for my truck 18 months ago and 9% below MRSP, but you still feel dirty when you finish with them.

This is why I always walk into a car deal with my own financing lined up. The Chrysler rate of 3.9% is highway robbery for someone with an 800+ credit score.

Absolutely. I went faster with the deal than I probably should have, but was looking to take advantage of the opportunity to dispose of the Tundra while making a little bit of money on it. Either way I'm done and they're still less than honest.

And as I walked out they said make sure we get all "10's" on our survey.
For some reason I feel the survey will be written in such a way as to
hide their shenanigans.

Is survey anonymous?

I haven't received it, but I sure hope not. I hope it includes a free text area. I've got plenty to say.

It does. The survey is from corporate, and it affects the dealer’s rankings. I’m not sure what they call it anymore, but Chrysler use to call highly ranked dealers their “5 star” dealerships, and a 5 star dealership received perks like better volume discounts and more inventory.

You should absolute rank trash dealers with trash scores.

I almost bought a Gladiator today. Found nearly the exact Willys build I've been looking for a 7 hour drive away. Price seemed too good to be true and was. But it wasn't the typical pricing where you realize unless you are a handicapped military veteran who just graduated college and are a part-time firefighter you don't qualify. This one was a trick in the destination fee. It's in the MSRP, but the dealership pulled it out and then added it back at the end when I asked for hard numbers. It also mysteriously went up $1000 when quoted from their advertised price.

The price is still very fair, I just don't care for the business practice of advertising a discounted price and then padding it on the backside. To be perfectly honest, if this was on a lot in my town I'd have bought it anyway but it was enough of a difference to not take a 14 hour road trip plus time at the dealership.
899 doc fee is a theft and a bad sales practice. That’s bullshit- they added back in their tip

Be careful giving these crooked, motherless fcuks a shite score--others on here have done that and then were hassled upon returning for service/warranty work.

I was interested in a Jeep at Frisco in Texas but there was no window sticker. I finally located it on Carfax and they're asking 2k over MSRP for a used Gladiator. Psssh Not the deal for me!!

I went to Southpoint Jeep in Austin, TX and after agreeing on the phone to a trade in value of $39,500 on my Silverado. (which was way too low but I agreed to move the deal along. That vehicle is on their lot now priced at $49,000 without them having done jack shit to it). I go to the dealer to buy the Gladiator Sport (2021) and the salesman comes in and says "Here you need to sign this to approve the trade in" while I was filling out some other crap they gave me. I signed the paper and he disappeared. We had also discussed a tire upgrade and side rails to offset the bargain trade in value which I was later told would be an additional $2500.

I specifically told them not to run my credit until I had time to remove the security freeze on my account and while I was doing that, the asshole in the finance department ignored it and ran 4 checks which all came back as "Inquiries" trashing my score because the freeze was still in effect. In the meantime I'm looking at the numbers and the trade in is $38000, $1500 less than agreed. The guy says "I said we would PROBABLY do that price, not definitely." Total bullshit. I should have walked then and there but I didn't. Stupid. Then in the finance department, that weasel hands me the payment terms and it shows a 6.5% interest rate. I had been paying 2.1% before. I said wtf that's wrong. He said "Well there was a credit freeze on your account so thats the best I could get." Unreal. I said the freeze is lifted, run it again. Now with all those inquiries the best I got was 4.5%. Then he starts pushing the extended warranty crap after I said not interested repeatedly so he drops the price to about 1/3 of the starting price. No thanks.

I get back to my house and the next day the salesman sends a text saying "I put the wrong tag on the jeep. Can you bring it back?" I looked and the tag on it had been expired for 2 days. I said "No. I'm not driving with expired tags. Bring me the correct tag." He comes out the next day (with no tools to remove the old one) Then sends a series of requests to "please rate my experience 5 stars." I also get a call from the "head customer service" guy asking if I had any questions to which I replied "Yeah. What is this "theft deterrent" charge of $500 on the invoice?" "Oh its required as insurance by the manufacturer." More bullshit. I also asked where the soft top was, that's listed on the invoice and he said he'd look into it. A week later I get a voicemail from the same guy asking the exact same "any questions" routine. I called him back and said "Remember? We talked at length a week ago?" "Oh yeahhh. Uh...still working on that but since you had an upgraded hard top, a soft top isnt included. Sorry."

A month later, I get a call from their admin dept asking me for the title to my Silverado. I told them because it still had temporary tags I never got the title and why had I not received my permanent tags yet btw? "Oh we'll overnight them to you." No they won't. The tags expired yesterday and I finally got ANOTHER set of temporary tags this afternoon, a week later. Still no permanent tags since purchase on April 2. Oh and in looking at the finance terms the finance sleaze bag boosted it to 72 months instead of 60. Stay clear of this place.

This isn't necessarily shenanigans, but an arrogant salesman... or maybe he just needed to end our conversation to use the bathroom, haha!

Went to Manahawkin CDJR in NJ knowing they only had a handful of Rubicon JTs on hand, nothing else, my goal was to order a Max Tow with a few options I was interested in. We quickly went through the order page and selected my options, got a price, and made up a few random down payment options to compare terms. I also had a trade-in that I specifically told them hey, I don't know what this is worth but it's all yours.

They never checked the value of my 2014 Hyundai Veloster Turbo, stock but with Sparco wheels painted to match the Elite White - which apparently was the biggest problem in retrospect. He could not fathom how I could get to my preferred monthly payment. I told him I didn't understand either, seeing as this wasn't going to be my first brand new Jeep and I had an even better deal on that one. Long story short, him and the fellow at the main counter belittled me, practically called me insane thinking I could get those terms, and shooed me out the door.

I was so ticked I immediately Googled the closest dealership with a Max Tow on site, which happened to be Pellegrino in Cherry Hill. I called ahead, met the salesman at the door, told him I didn't need a test drive and let's talk numbers. I was in and out, with the terms I wanted, in a matter of just a couple hours. And that's including 14K they gave me for my trade! Which at the time I think was even over value. I couldn't help but laugh.

I drove straight back to Manahawkin, parked right in front of that jerk's desk/window, and walked inside and ordered floormats, hitch plug, spare drainplugs and bulbs and walked out right by him. I even continue to use that location for my Jeep Wave services. Best part, Pellegrino called me that night, someone saw me drop off my Veloster - they resold it 30 minutes after I left.
